Lots of spots but they are tent camping only. All spots are fenced and have a level spot to pitch the tent. All spots have a picnic table as well as firepit. There is a restroom that is clean, with toilet paper and hand sanitizer but no other amenities.

Great primitive campground 40 miles from nowhere. Be prepared for changing weather. We were there in June 2005 and it was hot in the day but got down to 35 overnight. Don't eat the small watermelon looking plants. It will kill you.

Just to the right of the bathrooms is the Trail to the Past. If you take it to the right, near the large tree a few hundred yards are a bunch of pictographs. If you take the trail to the left, basically back behind the campground, there is a small 2 room dwelling.

Tables are walk-up, some further than others from parking lot. But this is nice...table is designed to cook on & is on a slab, high wall fire ring, close to toile, and water on site. I'd live here if I could.

Super friendly, knowledgeable volunteer staff. Clean bathroom (vault). Saw wildlife while we were there. The native gourd buffalo smells terrible, which is unpleasant but interesting to see the plants that were used many generations ago to still be lively in the area. I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 because I wish there were more marked trails leading off the campsite.
