Nice trailhead with plenty of wildflowers and ,if you time it right, fresh green views. The caves are located after about 2.3 miles from the trailhead. You need to cross the creek once around the middle. Not difficult but does take a little effort.

Great day use and overnight camping spot. Gets crowded after lunchtime. The hike up to the caves, trail 288, is well worth it and doable with kids. Roughly a 5.5 mile hike with little elevation gain. Caves located roughly at 35.85, -105.68958.

Panchuela Trailhead is a beautiful place with picnic shelters, camping, restrooms and a nice trail. It is primitive however, I didn't notice any electrical hookups so come prepared. I came here to hike the cave creek trail and was not disappointed.

Excellent side hike to get quickly above the valley floor to see the expanse that Pecos has to offer. The changing leaves were going off and we went at the height of the change. Its deep in there so expect a drive but the drive is one where you forget that you are driving and just enjoy being there. This is an excellent area of NM
