There are seven campgrounds in the Orilla Verde Recreation Area and we stayed in the Pilar campground. All campgrounds are located along the Rio Grande in the gorge. Taos is nearby for food and entertainment. We had no Tmobile cell service while in the Gorge.

Great place to camp and relax many different camp spots and affordable prices. Spots with hookups for campers and such and really cool spots that are primitive. Some only have vault toilets but the ones with gazebos have water. Love this place

Small developed BLM campground. Was not what I expected. Across the the road from the Rio Grande River. A mile and a half down 570 off of Hyw 68. RV sites have water and electric, 20A/30A/50A. A few covered tables. Restrooms. One handicap site. A camp host on site. This is NOT a free camp. It is one of two developed BLM locations in the area. RV sites are $15 per night and tent sites are $7. Well... Small developed BLM campground. Was not what I expected. Across the the road from the Rio Grande River. It is one of two developed BLM locations in the area. RV sites are $15 per night and tent sites are $7. Well worth it. Good views, quite. Cons, for me: the road to the location is a little narrow for larger rigs (mine 35' 5th wheel) and insects (ants/mosquitoes). Pros, convenient location traveling between Toas and Santa Fe; cheaper than private camps; good location for rafting trips. I did not see a dump station.

Beautiful and well kept area, very popular and was packed with folks so get there early to get a good spot. The bathrooms were fairly clean (for a campground at least lmao) and had tp and soap.
