Cedar Crest is popular during peak season. Reserve 2-4 weeks in advance for weekends and holidays.
Most parks have check-in after 1:00 PM and check-out by 11:00 AM. Call ahead if you'll arrive late.
New Mexico weather can change quickly. Pack layers and check the forecast for Cedar Crest.
Don't miss local attractions near Cedar Crest. Ask the camp host for hidden gems and trails.

Amazing and friendly people all around. This location is gorgeous and people here are like a family, everyone is always happy to troubleshoot or help with any issues or concerns. Would highly recommend if you are new to this lifestyle.

Don't live there but it's a ugly place to see as I drive to my home,it also is driving our property values down. This place is also draining our water wells dry. This is how the trailer Queen operates ,she thinks she is above the LAW,and can do as she wants. She doesn't have a zoning permit and no insurance, She says she doesn't need one. In short it's an illegal RV camping ground.

Great place! We as a mountain community need more beautiful places like this and people like Mindy need to stop (after 5 years of failing to close it!) harassing an AirBB style of living. Not everyone wants to live in the suburbs w/an HOA.

There’s never any running water yet we’re expected to pay MORE for lot rent? Oh AND one of their septic tanks is overflowing into their dog park.

This is the worst campground we’ve stayed at, the sites are so small we barely fit, the roads have huge ruts in them, the pool is shut down, the top bathrooms are disgusting and when I called about them she told me I needed to go use the ones at the bottom of the hill that weren’t cleaned or had paper towels the whole stay, we spent a week and the bathrooms weren’t cleaned 1 time. The workers sit on the office porch and didn’t do anything the whole time we were there. We rented this spot through Campspot, their pictures definitely aren’t accurate.

We stayed here one night and there was definitely a need for the campground to improve the road situ. If you have a camper that is longer than 60 ft with a tow, I would skip this place. We had a 42 ft class a with a trailer behind us and to be honest we barely made it up the hill. They didn't really have a spot that accommodated us without sticking out on both ends into the road. They didn't really have a spot that accommodated us without sticking out on both ends into the road. If you're a short unit, this is great. If you're a long unit, I'd say skip it and go somewhere else. Although the price is reasonable, the road makes it challenging.

Not a “resort” as advertised! No pride of ownership here: Driveway horribly rough; needs grading!! The sign out on the frontage road was bery faded & barely standing. The sign states “Hidden Valley RV Park”. Very confusing! Garbage dumpster over flowing (in full view of our front “picture window” of our RV. Not pretty!!) Sites very very narrow. Garbage dumpster over flowing (in full view of our front “picture window” of our RV. Not pretty!!) Sites very very narrow. Feels like a parking lot. Electrical boxes have outlets installed upside down-makes it tricky to rearrange your electrical cord. Ugh. No picnic table or even area to sit outdoors, not that we’d want to do such a thing here.. No WiFi and minimal cell coverage Our sewer area was disgusting; obvious sewage spilled all over the area 🤮 Litter everywhere…. Even dog feces in our site where we have to walk and everywhere we walked our dog (supposedly kid play areas-so gross!) Complete business very very run down. Obviously owner has not updated, repaired or have they cleaned anything in a long time!!! We arrived middle afternoon. Office closed. Had our reservation paper in a box on porch with site etc. we never saw an employee at all. We have traveled the whole country and stayed in many many RV parks, we understand this is off season and things aren’t as nice as when the trees have leaves etc, but $50/night is a lot to pay for this place. 🥴

I've lived here on & off for years but won't be returning next time because the park's been in a downward spiral due to lack of maintenance & employees. I've lived here on & off for years but won't be returning next time because the park's been in a downward spiral due to lack of maintenance & employees. The place is on its 4th owner in as many years- hopefully the newest one will do the smart thing & hire all new staff, start taking care of the place. The rent has consistently gone up while quality has plummeted- rumors of yet another increase plague residents. There's no way for visitors to voice concerns: complaints are blocked by the management (who is a big part of the problem). Things have really taken a turn for the worse since Shane became manager - no maintenance is performed anywhere. The dog park trashcan is overflowing w/poop everywhere, grass uncut, trash blowing, bathrooms closed/filthy, equipment broken, signs faded & fences falling down. Problems are ignored (frequent concerns involve electricity & leaking sewage), & short term visitors have issues w/ their reservations or are placed in unsuitable spaces. Many spots are too narrow, short & unlevel- they are never cleaned & problems are left unfixed. He's a nice guy but lazy - he blames owners for lack of maintenance but surely they expect him to perform certain routine duties in exchange for his wages. You'll never see him outside of the office & he acts inconvenienced if asked to address a problem. He won't allow residents to move to nicer spots - you could be in a tiny 1 for a year & ask to move to a better one when it opens up - he lies about why you can't, making up different excuses for different people who ask. Then you'll watch as the spot remains empty for months or is given to a new person instead. Shane refuses to address any issues with neighbors, won't even knock on their door no matter how many people complain about them. There is no enforcement of rules other than randomly in front of the office, him suddenly yelling for something abritrary while ignoring actual violators. There are no restrictions on stuff outside or pets- some people have many left barking in kennels for hours. His family members who live there are given special treatment- they have triple wide spaces, keys to the closed restrooms so they can continue using them while closed & allowed to park extra vehicles in public spaces. I doubt they even pay rent! Shane frequently keeps restrooms closed for long periods of time as a punishment because of one person's mess/misbehavior. If anything angers him he'll close them all in retaliation for months, forcing residents to go elsewhere to shower. The water in the park is often shut off with no warning & no notification when it's back on, sometimes for weeks w/ no discount for the inconvenience. The only "maintenance" man is a hard worker but too elderly & crippled to do any work. He can barely walk much less do hard labor! He's been singlehandedly & slowly remodeling the office for a long time while everything else in the park is crumbling. He doesn't have access to any equipment to do anything, such as a weed eater or golf cart. If you EVER (rarely) see work done around the park it's likely contrary to what needs done, such as cutting live green trees that aren't in the way while ignoring the giant dead branches hanging dangerously above sites. After projects the workers just leave their trash there permanently, such as sewer/water pipes or even soda bottles/candy wrappers. The road into the park is steep w/ huge holes & broken speed bumps - it scary driving down it in the winter due to ice. None of the roads in the park are maintained - large potholes & ruts in the dirt. There's no gravel so it's a muddy mess when it's wet & blowing dust when it's dry. Piles of debris are everywhere among the tall grass. Lack of mowing has caused weeds to grow tall - the entire place is covered in sharp goat heads that stick in you or your pet's feet. It's unfortunate that it's being neglected because it could be a really lovely place due to its location in the East Mountains, surrounded by nature & trees. I can't recommend anyone visit here unless things start getting cared for.
