Great place for the winter. It is unquestionably dessert so not for me in the summer. Quiet spot with spectacular night skies. The water is way, way down so the boat ramp is about a mile away from the water. It has a number of electrical and water hookups (30 and 50 amp) but there are only a couple of sewer hookups. There is a dump station at the entrance.

If you need to take a break from the party scene, this park area will give a quiet spot and dark sky for star gazing. I love this area for its huge RV spots. There is water and electricity. There is good cell reception if you want to work remotely, nothing but fresh, clean air and blue sky.

Absolutely beautiful, quiet, epic scenery. Perfect for tent or RV camping. Absolutely beautiful, quiet, epic scenery. Perfect for tent or RV camping. Excellent private picnic tables and shelter per site, electric and water (30amp), clean camp toilets and large, clean restrooms and showers. Safe, plenty of hiking or horseback riding trails around the lake and butte. Fairly large sites with plenty of foliage and privacy room between each. Short drive to T or C. A well maintained and beautiful state park for New Mexico. Loved the stay here and will likely return. Very reasonably priced nightly rates for private campsites with partial hookups, large covered picnic table, and fire/grill pit per site. Highly recommend, if traveling through NM, or wanting a great spot to camp with day trips into Truth or Consequences, or into Hatch and Hatch Village nearby (45min or less drive time from the state park to Hatch, 15min to Elephant Butte, 20min to T or C). Just the drive through the park itself has spectacular views overlooking the lake, with snow-capped mountains on your horizons.

I love this campground. The facilities are immaculate and the sites are not crammed up on top of each other. Also, its some way from the weekend warriors that make a lot of noise and trash up the lake! Summertime their could be a lot of flies, but other than that it’s a 10 of 10 campground. Water and power are great, excellent cell reception and dump station on site!

Another epic New Mexico campground. A big slab, indestructible table, fire pit, 30-amp electricity and water. Big views and lots of privacy. Dog poop bags that don’t rip. Great nearby trail. What’s not to like for $14 a night?
