This area is popular during peak season. Reserve 2-4 weeks in advance for weekends and holidays.
Most parks have check-in after 1:00 PM and check-out by 11:00 AM. Call ahead if you'll arrive late.
New Mexico weather can change quickly. Pack layers and check the forecast for the area.
Don't miss local attractions near the park. Ask the camp host for hidden gems and trails.

Lovely little (free) campground in a mature Ponderosa Pine forest. One pit toilet, several fire rings and a few picnic tables. No water, no trash pickup. Very quiet, no road noise - the wind in the trees is the loudest sound. Except when cattle are wandering though (open range here.) Ranger drives through once a day to check things out. I was the only one here over three days in August ‘24.

We enjoyed our stay. Very little traffic and no other campers when we were there.

Beautiful, secluded, smells fantastic. We didn't camp but came on a day trip to check it out. There are vault toilets, public use coralls for horses and several camp sites with plenty of room for vehicles and travel trailers. Coming from the north or south are both on gravel roads that were in good condition when we came through. We definitely plan to camp here a few nights when we are back in... Really neat campground. Beautiful country and trees all around it. There are 4 large horses stalls set up for keeping your horses in, picnic tables and grills. Restrooms on site. Neat and clean and just a really beautiful and clean area!
