About Cowboys Country RV Park

Campground in New Mexico.

Nestled in the heart of southeastern New Mexico, Cowboys Country RV Park offers a perfect home base for exploring one of the region's most captivating landscapes. Located in Carlsbad, this RV park provides convenient access to some of the American Southwest's most remarkable natural wonders and charming small-town experiences.

Carlsbad sits in the Chihuahuan Desert, a region known for its dramatic geology, wide open skies, and rich cultural heritage. The area has long attracted travelers seeking authentic Western experiences combined with stunning natural scenery. From your RV at Cowboys Country, you're positioned to explore what makes southeastern New Mexico truly special.

The region's crown jewel, Carlsbad Caverns National Park, lies just south of town. These magnificent underground formations represent one of the largest cave systems in the United States, featuring the famous Big Room and countless other chambers adorned with stalactites, stalagmites, and flowstone formations. A visit to the caverns is a must-do experience that showcases the incredible geological processes that have shaped this landscape over millions of years.

Beyond the caverns, the Carlsbad area offers numerous outdoor recreational opportunities. The Pecos River winds through the region, providing opportunities for fishing and scenic exploration. Hiking trails throughout the area allow visitors to experience the desert environment up close, with opportunities to spot native wildlife and enjoy panoramic views of the landscape.

Downtown Carlsbad offers a genuine taste of small-town New Mexico, with local restaurants, shops, and galleries reflecting the area's ranching heritage and artistic community. The town maintains a welcoming atmosphere where visitors can experience authentic Western hospitality and regional cuisine.

The natural beauty extends beyond the caverns as well. The surrounding desert landscape, with its unique flora and fauna adapted to arid conditions, creates a stunning backdrop for photography and nature appreciation. Clear nights in this region offer exceptional stargazing opportunities, with minimal light pollution revealing the full splendor of the night sky.

Whether you're seeking natural wonders, outdoor recreation, or simply a chance to experience the authentic character of the American Southwest, the Carlsbad area delivers memorable experiences. Cowboys Country RV Park serves as an excellent launching point for discovering why this corner of New Mexico has captivated visitors for generations.

Extremely friendly and accommodating staff. They even removed the wireless router from their own office to let me use it for a couple of days. It is big and open. We actually walked to the closest Walmart (45 min walk each way) We could not find the dumpsters for the trash. I wish they had some trees or any other way to provide some shade.

I stayed here for over a year while working. The owners are really good people! They run a quiet, well maintained, clean, and extremely safe park. There are surveillance cameras located throughout the park, and only 2 entry/exit points ensure a higher level of privacy and safety. I never heard of a single item being taken the entire time I was there. Getting mail and packages is super convenient,... I stayed here for over a year while working. Getting mail and packages is super convenient, and they even text you to let you know if you have mail to pick up in the laundry room. They also have excellent wifi service with separate connections at each site. I highly recommend staying here!!!! I hated having to leave.

Stayed here a month for work and it is definitely one of the better places to stay. Secure, quiet, laundry and nail service. All gravel, so it's not too dusty and not a mud pit like some places when it rains. Will definitely come back.

This park mainly rents on a monthly basis but they helped us out for a couple of nights. We had just come off of boondocking and needed a place to land, dump tanks, refill fresh water and wanted a nice long hot shower. Super friendly owner(s) and a Vietnam vet.

Great place to stop if your going to Caverns. Reasonably priced at 30.00 a night. Must be self contained no restroom or shower facility. All gravel parking. Free cable. Nice people. Only thing that would make it better is grass or cement pads.
