It was so convenient to walk right from our tent to the sandy shore of the lake. Speaking of the lake, it's truly beautiful. The water is clear, and the views are stunning. It's a perfect spot for swimming, kayaking, or just relaxing by the water's edge. The campground itself is meticulously maintained. The grounds were clean and well-kept, which made for a very pleasant experience. The bathrooms were also a highlight—they were cleaned often and were surprisingly spotless, a rarity at some campgrounds. The staff clearly takes great pride in keeping the facilities in top shape. Overall, Eagle Camp Ground is a wonderful place for a peaceful and scenic getaway. The combination of direct beach access, a beautiful lake, and clean facilities makes it a top-tier camping destination. We highly recommend it and can't wait to go back!

NYS Campground on Schroon Lake. Beautiful. Some campsites are on the lake's shore. Other, are up above and you can see the lake. Mostly level campsites, but some of the entire campground is on a steep slope. Shower room was great!

The star of the show is the lakeside views...however that comes at a cost being next to the road with traffic noise. Might not be an issue with a well insulated RV...but tent camping will have you up early. Restrooms are clean.

My boyfriend and I stayed here a couple of weeks ago for our vacation. It was my first time staying at a camp site, and I loved it! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The site we had was a good size and a one minute walk away from the shore of Schroon Lake. Beautiful view. I enjoyed several mornings starting my day doing meditation and yoga on the lake shore. We did kayaking - again, my first time - and the experience was easy and affordable. I appreciated the water spigot available near our site, and the benches and fire pit. The standalone bathrooms were satisfactory, and the showers were amazing! Water was always nice and warm, and the facilities were clean and updated. My only wish was that the water had the ability to get cold when I did want a cold rinse after our hikes in the heat. (But warm/hot water is more important, so I'm not complaining.) Lots of cute little chipmunks everywhere. This location wasn't far from the local small town if you need groceries, restaurants, or a liquor store. It's only thirty minutes from Lake George, so we were able to enjoy downtown Lake George a couple of times during the week. A lot of wonderful hiking spots nearby as well. I suggest Severance Mountain for a relatively easy hike and gorgeous view. Looking forward to going back next year! 😊

So I have a site for two nights. It's 95° so I go down to the beach to chill for a couple hours. Come back to my site and my $80 camping chair is gone along with my kindling. They did not take the bin full of wood, probably too much to carry for a quick getaway. What the hell is wrong with people ? That's no reflection on the campground, hence the 4 stars.
