For Scouting America locations, this was pretty good. Well done cabins, nice kitchen and bathrooms, great network of trails. Could be a really cool place for Summer Camp. Laughed at Google's description of it as a B&B though! Bring your own food on a camping trip!

Some of the best memories and most fun as a young boy going to Ten Mile River for two weeks during the summer in August. Completed the One mile swim with my best friend. All with Troop 1, Flushing, N.Y.

We regretted coming to this camp. From the start, we were given a terrible campsite that was so far from the dining hall and the area it was situated in was very rocky and a ton of falls happened as a result of this trek to the hall. This camp has a ton of rude Scouts who don't know the Scout Law very well, especially "loyal, helpful and friendly". One day, it was Crazy Hats Day or Funny Hats Day (name escapes me) and I had bought a clownfish hat to humor everyone, which worked for my troop. A few Scouts from another troop passed by us and said to me "A clownfish hat? What are you? Three?" and they jeered at me. Luckily my Scoutmaster was there to scold them for not being friendly but they laughed and left. It's upsetting. Staff was not terrific. In fact, they had to be the worst counselors I've ever since. I had an archery instructor who didn't know the safety of using a bow and I nearly snapped my finger in the bowstring and one kid got cut on his face because the bowstring was not properly made and it was unusually sharp. He never helped us with putting a bow together and sat by. Whenever someone asked him to help, he would just say "You'll figure it out." Rifle range instructors were pathetic. There was a porcupine on a tree over the hill of the range and they invited us to take a look, but they neglected to tell one Scout who fired a 22 rifle while people were in the range. He only got scolded and was told he could continue shooting. He'd have been kicked out had I been the instructor. Your Dan Beard program is terrible. We had many first year Scouts and they said the program was horrible and they got no requirements signed off. As a result, many of them quit once we returned. Thanks for ruining their experience. Food was decent but the mess hall was way too loud and the speaker system was like listening to nails scratching on a chalkboard. The waiting system is messed up and a ton of food ended up on the floor. A few of the Scouts got sick from one meal and we had to go to the trading post in order to eat something good. And finally, the latrines were disgusting. They smelled horrible, not like many that are well maintained in other camps. We had to hike to the mess hall to use their bathroom. Remember how long it took for us to get there? CLEAN THE DAMN LATRINES!!!!! Worst camp ever. Worst experience ever. Worst staff ever. Worst first experience for new Scouts. Worst campsite ever. Worst dining hall service. We told several troops to never camp here. Congratulations. You just ruined yourselves because of your lack of caring for your own camp. I returned in 2017 for a fellowship with the Order of the Arrow and despite the upgrades, the camp was still poorly staffed and unprofessional.

I was a Boy Scout back in the late 70's to early 80's. At Ten mile River camp I had the greatest time of my life. Learned how to properly use a bow and arrow, ride a horse, in leather working made my mom a few things. It was truly a different world for an inner city kid like I was. It truly was..."The Best of Times". Rodney E. H.
