About Homeless Encampment

Campground in New York.

Kingston, New York, nestled along the Hudson River in Ulster County, offers a compelling destination for RV travelers seeking a blend of history, natural beauty, and small-town charm. This public campground provides an accessible base for exploring one of the Hudson Valley's most historically significant communities, a place where American Revolution heritage meets contemporary culture and outdoor recreation.

The Kingston waterfront has undergone remarkable revitalization in recent years, transforming the area into a vibrant destination. The Stockade district, the oldest section of the city, features well-preserved colonial architecture and offers visitors a genuine sense of stepping back in time. Walking tours reveal stories of the city's role in American independence, including its brief stint as the state capital. Beyond history, the area has developed into a creative hub with galleries, boutique shops, and restaurants that reflect both local character and contemporary sensibilities.

For outdoor enthusiasts, the Hudson Valley location provides exceptional opportunities. The river itself offers scenic beauty and recreational activities, while nearby hiking trails in the Catskill Mountains are just a short drive away. Minnewaska State Park and other protected natural areas showcase dramatic landscapes, waterfalls, and views that make the region a photographer's paradise. The area's reputation for farm-to-table dining and local agriculture means fresh, quality meals are readily available, and many establishments feature Hudson Valley produce and products.

The Kingston area attracts a diverse range of travelers. History buffs will appreciate the Revolutionary War sites and colonial heritage. Nature lovers find endless hiking, kayaking, and scenic driving opportunities. Art and culture enthusiasts enjoy the galleries, performance venues, and creative community. Families appreciate the mix of educational attractions, outdoor activities, and accessible entertainment options. The moderate climate and proximity to multiple attractions make it appealing for extended stays or as a base for exploring the broader Hudson Valley region.

Whether visiting during fall foliage season, summer outdoor recreation, or winter holidays, Kingston offers something for every traveler.

Open and big, but it is a private day camp, you need to sign your children up for camp in order to come here. Not a camp site for travlers.

My daughter have camp there. She loves it! Give that recognition to the camp, however they couldn't accommodate without the campgrounds. So it goes hand in hand.
