I visited with my husband and 3 kids (14, 12, and 1.5) for 3 days over labor day weekend. We camped in a 30 ft RV with 3 slides and had plenty of space in our lot. We stayed in A Lot and loved the proximity to the showers and the large oversized lots . The owners were SO friendly and happy, I really can’t believe the negative reviews. We camped in a 30 ft RV with 3 slides and had plenty of space in our lot. We stayed in A Lot and loved the proximity to the showers and the large oversized lots . The owners were SO friendly and happy, I really can’t believe the negative reviews. Right from the start, they answered the phone every time I called and were so helpful and responsive. Our lot had a picnic table and fire ring- you can’t bring in your own wood but they sell firewood on site. We didn’t have a campfire while we were there so it didn’t bother us at all. The scenery is beautiful, the grass and lawns are like a golf course! This is a very quiet campground, which we loved. No loud parties and music and only saw a couple of dogs who were always on leashes and didn’t bark often. I don’t enjoy campgrounds with lots of dogs because the stressed-out barking and noise really takes away from the serenity of camping in nature. There were also no noisy golf carts or 4 wheelers- people actually WALK around for exercise (imagine that! 🤣) and it felt like my childhood when I was camping with my family in the 80’s because people actually went outside their campers but still respected each others’ privacy. My older kids loved the free wifi and we were shocked at how amazing the signal was! The speed allowed me to stay tethered to my work and I could watch Netflix with no problems. Love it for that reason alone! The owner told me they had a network engineer come in and design the whole wifi system and they have 12 towers throughout the grounds. Excellent. The pool was so clean we could see rainbows in the water and my kids loved it. The baby loved the jumping ring near the playground and both of my older kids loved racing each other down the big hills. So wholesome. The trees are MASSIVE and there’s tons of shade. I love trees and I felt so happy to see a huge old oak tree preserved. The creeks are beautiful and clean; the sound is relaxing. There were no smokers or parties- it was very family-friendly and not full of old people who would glare at a toddler shrieking in the delight of seeing a butterfly or a bird outside. The bathrooms were very clean, temperature-controlled, smelled wonderful, and the showers had amazing water pressure and hot water. I love that they have a huge industrial wash-up sink outside for you to clean your dishes- my RV sink is too tiny and I loved to spread out and get a deep clean on my dishes and pots. The garbage is well maintained, and septic right on our lot was a fantastic luxury. The rec center had air hockey, pool, and a bunch of arcade games. It’s definitely more of a vintage campground but it has that pure feeling of escaping back to the good old days when families used to enjoy spending time together. We didn’t do the activities but it’s nice they have things available each day. We would love to come back again and felt welcomed from the start. No issues with any rules or any problems at all- the owners were helpful and lovely. We have visited other campgrounds where we felt stared-at and subtle racism as a mixed-race family but this campground was SO pleasant and everyone said hello instead of glaring. It didn’t feel like a clique-ish spot where everyone is related and you’re an intruder on their BBQ. I loved the quiet and peaceful setting and felt I had privacy. As a family, we connected and made memories and laughed until our backs hurt- a perfect indication that it’s a stellar and magical place. The mini golf was such a lovely suprise- I’d never had that at a campsite before. I loved that it was free and we could play any time we want. It’s a basic course but if you’re a golfer, you don’t need fancy statues to practice your putting… the astroturf was in great condition and clean, and it was level and fun to play! It would be nice to have some swings from those big trees in the shade- but maybe that’s a liability issue in a litigious country. I added photos- we will be back!

We came here intending to stay for a week. After a few days, we decided we wanted to stay for an additional week. A beautiful RV resort. The sites are huge and many are shaded which was so nice in this heatwave. The grounds are immaculate with rolling hills and large mature trees. The owners take great pride in this park and it shows. Not too warm and not too cold. Perfect! We are up in the H section and it's perfect! Very quiet and like I mentioned...big beautiful trees! There's a creek and a trail which we haven't hiked yet. The owners are friendly and engaging. Being full-time RVers, that's always a big plus. I like that they interact with the guests and drive around the park making sure everything is safe. There are several waterfalls nearby as well if you enjoy hiking. We look forward to coming back to this lovely RV park.

We stayed in one of the rental RVs. We were right by the camp store, pool, and rec room. This campground is magical! Peaceful, rustic, and just beautiful. The owners were kind and very generous. We can't wait to go back.

Avoid Brookwood at All Costs Brookwood is a run-down park owned by two individuals with a clear “trailer park” mentality. I brought in a Class A coach and was immediately met with hostility—the owner literally chased me down on a golf cart, toothless and aggressive, like something out of a bad sitcom. The vibe here is completely off, the service is nonexistent, and we were treated like we were in... The vibe here is completely off, the service is nonexistent, and we were treated like we were intruding on someone’s backyard barbecue. The facilities are outdated and falling apart. Unless you’re into the “rusted lawn chair and burned-out grill” aesthetic, steer clear. If you value your rig, your peace of mind, or even just common decency, save yourself the hassle and head to Copake instead—it’s night and day.
