Not all KOAs are created equal, and unfortunately our stay at Cooperstown KOA left a lot to be desired. It was our first time at this location. We stayed only one night in one of the cabins. Not all KOAs are created equal, and unfortunately our stay at Cooperstown KOA left a lot to be desired. It was our first time at this location. We stayed only one night in one of the cabins. The cabin itself was clean enough upon arrival, but it lacked some basic essentials. There were no extra paper towels, no sponge for washing dishes, and the patio furniture was in rough shape — with some chairs broken or held together with zip ties. The double bed was extremely uncomfortable. It honestly felt like sleeping on hay bales propped up on toothpicks — not a good night’s rest at all. For the price, I expected better upkeep and attention to detail. The campground overall was just okay. What really stood out was how many activities were completely shut down, which made the place feel empty and uninviting. One of the reasons we book KOA is for the activities and sense of community, so this was a letdown. Staff presence was another issue. Aside from check-in, it was the one and only time we saw staff around. Usually KOAs have a welcoming, attentive staff presence that makes the stay enjoyable, but that was missing here. I can not get over how highly rated this location is. This location simply does not deserve a 4-5 star rating. Unfortunately, we won’t be back in the future and I can’t say that I can recommend Cooperstown KOA.

First off this is not located in Cooperstown. It’s roughly 20-30 mins away so keep that in mind. This location is very rural…farm country. We rented a dog friendly cabin. Upon arrival we could tell that the cabin just had a quick turnaround and a once over. The floors weren’t even swept. Tub had a huge stain. Cabin was small but as expected. No TV in the cabin. Bunks in the cabin are for kids only... First off this is not located in Cooperstown. It’s roughly 20-30 mins away so keep that in mind. This location is very rural…farm country. Nice views of the surrounding areas. Maintained decent and you can see they are adding improvements. Small playground area. Very small basketball court. Pickle ball court (was being painted). Didn’t use the public showers or public restrooms. Sites had shade and most seemed to be pull through. “Dog park” is just a fenced in area. They seemed very strict on the firewood and outdoor mats. No outside firewood (even with in the DEC rules) and we did see one person that had to pick up there mat. Firewood price was $7 for 7-8 pieces. Never seen or heard of any campground activity available. Never seen staff or at least any staff wearing KOA gear through out the day. Pool was closed during our stay also.

The grounds themselves were decent being a KOA even a journey you have certain expectations.. we rarely go to a KOA due to the cost.. the WiFi was excellent best I have seen.. the water was good it’s a little hard but it was manageable I used my own water after the 2nd day for coffee..all staff were friendly that we encountered..

We stayed in a deluxe cabin. Everything great except - front door window has no covering and everyone can see in which we do not like. It needs curtains or shades. We are using a bath towel. Also there is no TV. A little disappointed about that.

A great KOA with great value. Close to Cooperstown and Dreams Park but also close to the state parks in the area. I think the Kamping Kabins could be a little cleaner but nothing crazy just some cobwebs thats all. It is always a pleasure to stay here!
