Original I booked rustic site 3 and it wouldnt even fit 2 tents, I had to cough up an extra 10$ to change my site to R70, and the difference between sites is night and day, we couldn't see our neighbors at R70 whereas site 3 we would have been 10 feet from the main driving road with no trees in between. Do your research if your booking here. Overall a good site, very nice community and plenty of places close by for firewood purchase.

A beautiful park with a lake for fishing, boating and swimming. Also many hiking trails. A huge beach and play area. Site of the annual event Pumpkin Chunkin held in October. Restrooms available.

Loved this place. Very beautiful and quiet. The beach was very nice and clean. Rented a pontoon boat at a reasonable charge which is right on site. We seen a bald eagle in the tree. The picture isnt very clear but the eagle is on the top branch. I would highly recommend this campground.

My husband and I left our home in Virginia on Saturday and headed to this park we had been planning to visit for two weeks. After 3 hours and 27 minutes, we arrived. It was 1:37 p.m. when we approached the main office door and saw a woman moving inside, but the secondary door was locked. A minute later, a very cheerful park ranger with thin mustaches came out and asked what we needed. We explained that we didn’t have a reservation, but we had our tent and planned to camp overnight until Sunday. He told us that wouldn’t be a problem. We asked how much we needed to pay. He then asked if we were from Pennsylvania. We said no, and he told us to wait while he checked the fee. Moments later, he went to the front desk, came back with a paper, and informed us that we had to pay $37 and that we would find a small box with an envelope at the campground. That was it—he ended with a goodbye smile. But when we arrived at the location he gave us, here is the picture we took: the access gate had a padlock on it. Disappointed, we drove back to the office, and no one opened the door for us. It wasn’t even 3 p.m. yet. We stayed there for a while trying to figure out what to do after almost 4 hours on the road. We were very, very, very disappointed. Up until that moment, we had ALWAYS encountered kind and knowledgeable park rangers. This man didn’t even know the Rustic Campground was closed. Honestly, he’s someone who should be growing vegetables or driving a truck—not working as a responsible employee of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. Thumbs down!
