We stayed in the Poe Valley Campground and really enjoyed it. Being surrounded by hills and having access to the cute little lake was beautiful. The restroom facilities were surprisingly well taken care of and clean. The only thing that is less than ideal about the place is the access. You need to drive through mountain roads for a few miles to get there. A few firewood selling camps along the way... We stayed in the Poe Valley Campground and really enjoyed it. Being surrounded by hills and having access to the cute little lake was beautiful. The restroom facilities were surprisingly well taken care of and clean. The only thing that is less than ideal about the place is the access. You need to drive through mountain roads for a few miles to get there. A few firewood selling camps along the way in case you need them 👍🏻

This park has it's pros and cons. First the pros: Large electric sites, beautiful updated bathhouses, a gorgeous lake, and nice programs for kids! It was a peaceful park with lots of families enjoying the lake and the beach area. There were also paddle boats you could rent. Cons: The road to the campground is gravel and extremely narrow, the gravel road takes about 20 to 25 min from highway to the... This park has it's pros and cons. First the pros: Large electric sites, beautiful updated bathhouses, a gorgeous lake, and nice programs for kids! It was a peaceful park with lots of families enjoying the lake and the beach area. There were also paddle boats you could rent. Cons: The road to the campground is gravel and extremely narrow, the gravel road takes about 20 to 25 min from highway to the campground (10 miles), two large campers would have difficulty passing one another on the road, cell service is about 10 min away, and no nearby hiking trails. You can drive to some trails but many of them are not easily recognized...there is a sign marking them but not able to discern where the actual trail is...

It is a 6 mile drive off the main road and 5 of it is gravel... that aside the lake is beautiful with a nice but small swimming area. They do have changing rooms, restrooms, and a seasonal concession stand. Fishing and kayaking are welcome.

Went to see if anyone was ice fishing. No one around but me and a frozen lake. Hung out enjoyed the peace and quiet as it snowed. You do need all wheel or four wheel to get up the icy roads. But if you are into hanging out in cold weather. Nice place to be.
