What really made our stay special were the people. Jimmy, the campground manager, was fantastic. From day one he greeted us with a friendly “good morning” and was always willing to help with anything we needed. His kindness and attentiveness made a big difference during a hectic time for us. The owners were just as wonderful. They clearly care about this place and the community around it. Everything they’ve built here, from the cabins to the small touches throughout the property, shows real heart. Plumtree is more than just a campground; it’s a peaceful, welcoming place to recharge. The trails, the waterfall, the views, the mountain air… it all adds up to something special. Whether you’re staying for a weekend or a while, you’ll be glad you chose it. We certainly were.

Im pretty new to camping. I haven't been to many however this one was really nice. Theres nothing too fancy about it like many other campsites ive seen online. However, when I think of camping, this is exactly what I think of. Secluded, beautiful view, nothing but a few lamps and the starlight. The gentlemen I dealt with was very nice and accommodating. Theres nothing too fancy about it like many other campsites ive seen online. However, when I think of camping, this is exactly what I think of. Secluded, beautiful view, nothing but a few lamps and the starlight. The gentlemen I dealt with was very nice and accommodating. I did not really look at the forecast before going (i knew it was going to snow) I did NOT know there was going to be a windchill in the single digits and gusts up 40 mph. After realizing that I was in fact not going to be able to start a fire and make dinner, I contacted I think Jed. It took awhile to get a response but he said they had some important things pop up so I understood. My point is, he opened the store for me to salvage my night and have a night in the camper. Which I greatly appreciated. My only issue was the internet was VERY spotty and slow. But it can only do so much in the middle of no where. I DID NOT want to leave. I tried convincing my friends to go back next weekend lol. I will be back Plumbtree!!!

We had such a great time at Plumtree. Jed and Jennifer and the others were such great and friendly people with true care for their guests. They helped a neighbor having trouble get their fire started. Just great people. We arrived later on a Friday - they allowed us to take one of the more remote sites along the creek which had that true Appalachian feel for us. Peaceful and beautiful. Very greatful for them and that we stumbled upon their campground. Will be coming back! Location wise it’s awesome as well. Close to Roan mountain, Linville Gorge, Grandfather mountain, and tons more.

We have stayed at many different campgrounds over the last few years but our whole family agrees that none compare to Plumtree. Jimmy is a terrific manager who is always happy to provide firewood, ice, anything you may need. Warren and Donna are the best hosts who always greet you with a smile. We’ve had a minor issue with our camper while there and no way to fix it. Jed showed up with tools and had it repaired in no time. We had a tree branch fall across our camper after some high winds. It didn’t touch our camper but it was precarious. My husband had left due to a medical situation with a family member so I had no way to move the camper. Again, Jed showed up with his truck and pulled the camper out, then got help cutting down the broken tree. He and Jenifer worked well after dark clearing the branches out and putting the camper back in place. I cannot express how grateful I was for their determination and hard work. And I can say with certainty that had it happened at one of the big corporate-owned campgrounds, I would’ve been left to figure it out on my own. Jed and Jenifer also opened the campground to the displaced and the relief workers after Hurricane Helene and operated a distribution center to get much needed items to the locals who needed help, all while dealing with their own Helene related problems. Good people? Nope, GREAT people. Gorgeous campground. Go stay there and you will become addicted like we are.

We just arrived yesterday to this beautiful campground. We were greeted and escorted to our site by the wonderful staff. Our gravel site is level and spacious with a grassy area, picnic table, and fire pit. Mountains hug the area and I enjoyed watching the sun rise. This is a special little place and I'm glad I discovered it.
