Cedar Mountain is popular during peak season. Reserve 2-4 weeks in advance for weekends and holidays.
Most parks have check-in after 1:00 PM and check-out by 11:00 AM. Call ahead if you'll arrive late.
North Carolina weather can change quickly. Pack layers and check the forecast for Cedar Mountain.
Don't miss local attractions near Cedar Mountain. Ask the camp host for hidden gems and trails.

They are blessed to have clean well water to source each campsite and also it provides very nice and clean full flush bathhouse. You won''t find a nicer and cleaner bathhouse other than some of the select NC State Park campgrounds. Each site also has electricity if needed and wifi for those who want that while camping. If not, just don't tell the people/kids camping with you. Deep wooded sites but flat and functional where needed. If this isn't enough, they have a camp store that has everything and then some that you would need to replenish your own stock or save the day on the "I forgot" items. Very nice and personable owners/staff that know the area well and will help guide and answer anything you need. Family friendly campground to say the least. Lastly, the signature 3 waterfall hike just 5-10 mins up the road is must hike and see if in the area. Rather easy and short 3 miles tops round trip hike to be able to see 3 waterfalls. The one thing that can spoil the day is parking lot fills early on nice weather weekends, so........................

This is a beautiful campsite. We stayed in the cabins and they were a perfect way to get out in nature without needing to set up out tent. Be warned, this campground is not flat, so if you plan on walking between sites a lot, you'll be going up and down a lot of hills.

With over a hundred campsites, there’s plenty of room, and the amenities are fantastic, from a refreshing pool to a convenient store that’s open until 10 at night. Overall, it’s a warm and friendly place to stay, and I can’t wait to go back!

Our second visit here was equally memorable and we look forward to coming back again next year! Haven’t found a better place to escape the heat of FL than this location. Haven’t found a better place to escape the heat of FL than this location. There were warm enough days to play in the mountains streams and many waterfalls and yet cool enough to enjoy hikes and campfires. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. The campground is pristine and the large pool was an extra treat for our grandkids, along with the Saturday ice cream social. The owners have suffered from the cost of clearing the many trees that fell during the 2024 hurricane, though tree loss is unnoticeable in such a dense forest, postponing much needed repairs to the games & laundry building. But we still were able to get our laundry done, and enjoy a few games of air hockey. We always enjoyed the beautiful drive to town, and were blessed to observe both glassblowing and pottery demonstrations by kind and skillful artisans along the way. Treated ourselves to the BEST TROUT in Brevard at The Blind Mule. We love Black Forest Family Resort, which is in itself a beautiful sight to see.

This is a great campground. Spent the day out hiking to various waterfalls and exploring Brevard and the nights hanging at the pool and enjoying the fireflies. Sites are level, staff is attentive and knowledgeable and full hookups available. Would definitely recommend if looking for a great family friendly spot in the area.
