I loved the small cabin #1 on Carrie and Tom's land. It was the perfect amount of space for two people. Tom was super friendly and made his rounds everyday to make sure we had everything we needed. We will be coming back in the spring and summer and bringing friends for sure to enjoy with us! A+++++

Tom the owner is a super nice guy and all his staff is very helpful. Cabins are always clean, showers are always clean and the water is hot, toilets clean as well and plumbing works perfectly. The natural brook outside with the little waterfall ads to the ambiance and I love sitting on the rocks and listening to the trees. Every cabin has its own fire pit and grill. If you love privacy, disconnecting from society for a bit, and being in a serene setting I highly suggest booking here. Also you can not beat the price! The prices are low but Tom and his staff work hard to make the experience a 10/10.

I stayed in cabin 1. It was a little more rustic than I expected. That being said it made for a true mountain camping experience. Fell asleep to the sound of the Stream running. Matress was super comfortable, space heater kept the room warm. Electric all worked. Hot showers and clean bathrooms. It’s not the ritz Carlton but who needs that? It was nice having the gas station/convenience store less than a mile away in balsam grove. I would definitely camp here again!!!

TLDR: The price was great. The dogs loved it. The staff was super friendly. I would return again. This place served as a base camp for our group while we hiked several trails in the surrounding area. Make no mistake these are minimalist cabins. You get a bed, microwave, K-Cup coffee maker, mini fridge, heater, A/C unit, and a couple of outlets. Getting There: The facility was easy to find. I would caution against using Davidson River Rd. It's very rough as tracked equipment has left some harsh tracks in the road limiting speeds to 10-15mph. Better to come down Hwy 64 to Rosman and up NC-215. Check-in: Easy. Show up to your cabin and start making yourself at home. Staff will make rounds as necessary. Cabin: I stayed in Cabin 4 which is a 10x10 converted shed. The cabin was nice for what I was doing. It was insulated and it stayed very comfortable. There are hooks to hang things like towels, backpacks, daypacks and some shelves for loose items. It's a step above a tent and car camping. Amenities: -Wi-Fi is minimal. Good enough to check the weather, send out a message or two, but you're not streaming or gaming off of it. If you need consistent Wi-Fi Cabin 5 is your best bet, but again it has a low bandwidth and is prone to outages. Also you'll be popular as other campers will need to be within 20ft of the antenna attached to Cabin 5 to get signal. - The bathhouse has private stalls, however, it is not climate controlled. They do have hot water. The bathhouse is a short walk from the cabins. Recommend Stall #1 for showers and Stall #2 for toilets. Toilet paper is supplied. Everything else you need to bring with you. -Water can be obtained from several ground spigots. It is potable. - Food is on you. There's no continental breakfast. The closest restaurants and grocery stores are 20-30 mins away. Dogs: The facility is extremely dog friendly. Mine enjoyed swimming in the river and playing in the field where Cabin 3 use to be. There are strays that come through, but we had no negative encounters.
