I really liked this campground. It was small and the camp sights weren't packed tightly together. Nice campsite with nice sized spots and clean restrooms. Woodsy feel, but it is not quiet. From morning until sundown it sounds like being near a race track due to the sports cars and motorcycles on the parkway which borders the park. Not the serene getaway we were looking for and expect when camping.

Its a beautiful campground with lots of fall colors trees. Plenty of bathroom & campsites. Great staff working at front desk. Bear proof trash bins. Many beautiful trees. Walking distance from look rock view point & watching tower.

This is a basic campground. It's clean and each site has a paved parking spot, a picnic table, and a tent pad. Some sites have water and electricity. Nothing fancy, which is how I like it. There are restrooms but no showers. My wife has respiratory issues so it would be nice if there was a section with no campfires, but we understand most people want a fire.

Very nice NPS campground at 2,400’ elevation. Paved roads and sites. Good spacing. Mostly level. Electricity and water are available at some. I was at site 46 and liked it. Lots of dirt in the water at sites with water. Bring a filter. My dog was unimpressed. Most of Loop A is close to Foothills Parkway so there is some road noise, but commercial traffic is prohibited so it is inconsequential. The... Very nice NPS campground at 2,400’ elevation. My dog was unimpressed. Most of Loop A is close to Foothills Parkway so there is some road noise, but commercial traffic is prohibited so it is inconsequential. The campground has deciduous trees that provide shade without making it gloomy. Running water and flush toilets are at the very clean restrooms. Surprisingly, I saw no deer or bears anywhere at or near the campground, not even a squirrel. No birds to speak of either, probably because my visit was between migrations. Look Rock lookout (approximately 2,700’ elevation) is a short hike away. If you’d rather drive there, it’s just a mile down the road. Verizon has zero service but driving the Foothills Parkway towards Townsend, TN takes you to a number of overlooks with service. During my two nights there, I saw few staff but occasionally patrolling rangers. It felt very safe. I will definitely return.
