Roads are well-paved, but narrow. Site sizes are accurate as listed by recreation.gov and are all wooded with very good privacy. Most sites are very level & well-graveled with a decent size gravel you don't trip all through. Keep in mind that at this fed Rec Area you cannot make reservations at the office, nor do they have a drop box to pick a site & pay by envelope after hours. You also will NOT get a T-Mobile signal there. The attendant that evening was nice enough to turn on the office's wifi & give me the pass code so I could make the reservation there on site. Otherwise we would have had to turn around 3 & drive 3 miles through the mountains back to a signal to make an appointment. They really should consider getting a signal booster for 24 hour use for those coming after hours. The showers are horrible. They were clean & had hot/warm water, BUT they had those hit-the-button-for-2-minutes-of-warm-water kind of thing with irritating spraying shower heads that had low flow. For the price of an electric & water only hook-up ($45!) they should have decent showers (& dump access on each site). Also, if you have a federal park pass the only card that will give you 1/2 price campsites is the permanent disability access card (because it's contractor managed). Honestly, it's a very nice park but without sewer at your site & bad showers it's not worth $45/night. I gave it a 4 because it's simply too expensive.

Great place to camp. All types of sites available. Great hiking trails including Bent creek MTB trails. Clean facilities including showers. The sites are spaced wide enough so you’re not crowded next to the neighbours. The staff are helpful and friendly.

A group of us had 3 sites in early November 2025. We went to ride the vast amount of MTN bike trails. What a great experience. Sites were clean and perfectly maintained. Staff was friendly and accessible. The bike trails were endless. We had a great time and hope to go back soon.

Easy to access and will maintained. I stayed in site 24. Even though there were a few people around me, it was so quiet and private because of all the trees and foliage. Not to mention the bathrooms and shower. I had my dog with me and there was plenty of areas to walk him without getting into other people’s space.

Great park with lots of biking trails and campsites. mostly mountain bike trails with some technical trails. There are some campsites with full hook ups and some just primitive camp sites. They are separated pretty good from each other. Lots of hiking trails and a beautiful pond for swimming.
