Honest review- I would give 4.5, 4 is too short, 5 is too gracious. Background- we booked this on the fly as we decided to come up a day early for a ski trip and everything was booked in the Beech/Sugar mountain area. Our room was above the tap room- so if you go to bed early or are noise sensitive, know that there are a few rooms above. Didn’t bother us one bit. The good- ease of booking, atmosphere, room size, tap room on site, (too cold but for those who may be interested- there was a rec area with a pickleball court, basketball, and cornhole right off the party deck. Good water pressure, very hot water, very clean room/sheets. Good mobile communication with booking staff. Nice atmosphere in the room. Pillows were comfy, sheets were very clean, beds made tight, mattress a little firm but not uncomfortable. The con- shower head is perfect armpit height. I’m 6.5’ so I’m not the average height, but man it’s never been so clean lol. If you’re under 5’2 you’ll be fine. If you’re tall like me it’s nothing new. If your average height, welcome to what tall people are used to lol. Also, the water adjustment is touchy. At one point it’s too cold, three hairs warmer and you get scolded. Very hot water! The college fridge, with microwave on top, with coffee maker on top of microwave is a bit womp womp, a simple ikea table or something in that corner would go far. Overall, I can tell the owners care a lot. It was very easy to book. Price was very reasonable. The rooms are very clean, and I would definitely stay here again and/or recommend it to another young family. If you want la de da resort, it’s not for you, if you want a clean very nice place to stay 2 grades of care out into the property more than a corporate travel motel, then stay here!

A perfect place for a mountain getaway! I stayed in the tiny house and it’s the perfect mix of cozy / private with has activities onsite (pickleball court, live music, bar) & close to really good hikes nearby (like 20 min away) so you can really choose what you want your trip to look like. I cannot wait to come back!

I would recommend a stay at ‘The Pineola’ they even have a tap room on premises with adult beverages. My room was clean and warm and I will say, ‘The Pineola’ checks all of the boxes in my opinion. I was very comfortable and will return for more winter vacations in the High Country and book my stays at ‘The Pineola.’

The room was very nice and lovely, perfect for a weekend getaway with my girlfriend. The service was phenomenal - the staff at Pineola kept checking in with us every day, and they were very responsive with any inquiries we had. The best part, the price and location away from Sugar Mountain or Beech Mountain was perfect. Definitely will stay here again for the next skiing trip!
