You can tell they really care about maintaining the area. The river was a short walk from our campsite and it was mesmerizing to watch and walk along every day. My son didn't want to leave, which is a sign we need to go back soon!

This is one of the best campgrounds in NC. Kevin & Candy and the hosts were amazing. We were originally staying at Carolina Hemlocks, but let to stay at the Black Mountain Campground. They were so friendly and created the camping vibe we were looking for. We will definitely come back. The only reason we came was due to how great Tim was when we stayed at Carolina Hemlocks last May. I'm glad to... This is one of the best campgrounds in NC. Kevin & Candy and the hosts were amazing. Best campground around! I have been camping here for over a decade with my family. This place holds my heart in its rivers and trees. I can't wait till we are able to go back to the place we love so much.. P.S. bring back the ice cream ( me and my cousins would walk to the front to river walk and eat ice cream ever time, we miss it)

Overall the campground was nice, showers are only hot for about 5 minutes then turn ice cold, bathrooms are private which is a plus. Cleanliness could be a bit better. Price was 28$ a night, right by the Mount Mitchell hike (follow blue diamonds the whole way) was told it was 14 miles, my watch said I walked 16.75 so please bring plenty of water and food. The snack bar at the top was not open when... Overall the campground was nice, showers are only hot for about 5 minutes then turn ice cold, bathrooms are private which is a plus.
