I almost don't want to leave a review about this gem so others don't ruin it. Beautiful primitive campground. Pit toilets are what you'd expect. Bear proof trashcans. Most sites are pretty level and can accommodate an RV. I had my 35 ft skoolie here. Site 1 is a pull through site. Firepits and picnic benches at each site. Can access a spur of the Uwharrie trail from the campground. Makes... I almost don't want to leave a review about this gem so others don't ruin it. Beautiful primitive campground. Had a great stay at spot number 9; good and level for our pop up camper. It does have one bench missing from the picnic table, and the remaining bench is very loose-be careful. Fire pit needed a good cleaning, I pulled close to 8 cans from the fire pit? We had a very quiet afternoon/ evening/night and had a great time. Vault toilets are still in rough shape, but clean enough.

The GOOD: The campsites are situated along a winding road; you can barely see the neighboring campsites. The sites are perfectly wooded with plenty of a shade. The BAD: The few available sites that I looked at upon my arrival were not well suited for a tent because the designated space for a tent is not level. You'd be better off sleeping on the flat-level picnic table. The UGLY: The vaulted toile... The GOOD: The campsites are situated along a winding road; you can barely see the neighboring campsites. Apparently, the facilities have missed a few cleaning cycles. AND, the vaulted toilet exterior (building) is in need of repair...see attached picture. I wonder if there are snakes (egads!) in those deteriorating walls?!

Good location in Uwharrie. Sites are clear and level. Our picnic table was falling apart. Not super private, we could see our neighbors. Most other campers were quiet, with the exception of a man clearly on drugs, acting erratic and making noise all night. First come first serve, we arrived at 11:30am on a Saturday in Mid-May and there were plenty of spaces. We liked site #7.

Great & for the most part, quiet little camp spot... until your neighbor fires up the generator. Quiet time starts @10pm 🤷♀️🤦♀️. Maybe someone should enforce it 🫢😃. $10 a night pit toilets Fire pit Picnic table!
