About Cowpens Battlefield RV Park

Campground in North Carolina.

Cowpens Battlefield RV Park offers RV travelers a unique opportunity to camp near one of the most significant Revolutionary War battlegrounds in American history. Located in North Carolina, this park serves as an ideal base for history enthusiasts, families seeking educational experiences, and anyone interested in exploring the rich heritage of the American South.

The area surrounding Cowpens is steeped in Revolutionary War history. The Battle of Cowpens, fought on January 17, 1781, was a pivotal moment in the Southern Campaign of the Revolutionary War. General Daniel Morgan's decisive victory here boosted American morale and demonstrated that the Continental Army could defeat British forces in conventional battle. For history buffs, staying at this park means you're positioned perfectly to explore the actual battlefield and visitor center, where you can walk the grounds where these momentous events unfolded and gain deeper insight into this crucial chapter of American independence.

Beyond the historical significance, the surrounding region offers plenty to keep RV campers entertained. The gentle rolling terrain of the North Carolina Piedmont provides scenic views and pleasant weather for much of the year. Travelers can enjoy outdoor activities including hiking, exploring local trails, and visiting nearby towns with their own historical charm and local dining options. The park's location makes it convenient for those traveling between major destinations on the East Coast, offering a meaningful stop rather than just a place to sleep.

The park appeals to a diverse range of visitors. History teachers often bring school groups to experience learning outside the classroom. Families can share educational experiences while enjoying quality time together in the RV. Retired travelers frequently use the park as a home base for extended stays while they thoroughly explore the region's historical sites. Military history enthusiasts and genealogists tracing family connections to the Revolutionary War also find this location particularly rewarding.

Whether you're planning a quick overnight stop or a longer stay to immerse yourself in American history, Cowpens Battlefield RV Park provides convenient access to meaningful experiences and scenic North Carolina landscapes.

A wonderful place to live long term or just a short stay. On site laundry, shaded dog park and playground (coming soon). Included water, electric, and grounds keeping. It reels more like a community than just another campground.

Diamond in the rough for our 50AMP Fifth Wheeler. We stayed 6 months while building a home in the area. My daughter loved it so much she did not want to leave. Very quiet, yet conveniently located off I-85 and Hwy 11, close to gas, supermarkets, and great local restaurants. One mile from Cowpens National Battlefield.

The park does need more amenities like a pool and game room or pavilion, with that being said Karen has been pushing the owner to purchase the property behind the park in order to expand and add said amenities so fingers crossed 🤞 The laundry room is free!! And for the price with utilities included it’ll definitely be our home until we can afford to make our permanent home in Tennessee!!! Thanks Karen and Troy!!

Do not listen to the negative reviews on here, I have not seen or experienced anything negative in anyway.

Love staying here. The sunsets in the evenings over the field are stunning whit their crimsons and golds. The management and her husband do a great job keeping the campgrounds nice year around. If you need a place to park your home, short or long term, and your in this neck of the woods, check here first.
