It was an average RV park. Loud highway noises and the lots were smaller than most places. The website states there is a heated pool but when we moved in we’re told they didn’t feel like heating it this year. They were in the process of taking out their WiFi and you will need to provide a modem for wired internet access. On their website it offers $100 off your 2nd months rent but I had to go to... Not a bad place as long as you don’t plan on using the missing amenities or need to interact with the office workers.

As race fans, we loved coming to Lakeview twice a year. This year the ownership has changed (or at least we were told) and the woman at the front desk is extremely rude and snarky. Last year I won a 4-day stay playing bingo. We called to book and she didn’t want to honor it. My husband sent documentation and then was told they were booked solid. We called to book and she didn’t want to honor it. My husband sent documentation and then was told they were booked solid. He persisted and finally we were given a site. Once here, things did not improve. My daughters and I walked to the little store to buy ice cream. I asked the same woman about booking for next year. She commented that they are no longer “catering to” race fans and will be 100% permanent residents. I asked if they would have karaoke, bingo or other activities that they usually provide for race fans and their families. She informed me that they’re spending their funds on permanent residents now. I asked about nearby rv parks and she snapped, “none with amenities like ours”. Okay… Oddly enough, they were far from full this trip and we found several RV resorts in the area. We did not feel welcome here. Also, the playground was removed, the horseshoe area gone, and access to the lake limited. The boat area seems abandoned.

Stayed for three nights while fishing the South Holston and Watauga. Tried calling three times during business hours for a reservation and left two messages, never got a call back. I ended up reserving on line with a Sunday arrival. The office is closed on Sundays and there are no signs/directions on how to check in after hours. The office is closed on Sundays and there are no signs/directions on how to check in after hours. I ended up calling the emergency number posted and Larry did come quickly to get checked in. The water supply at my site leaked from the base. It didnt really affect anything but I did turn the water off while not at the site. The hours to the office are from 8 to 4 so I never saw it open. There are three bathrooms by the office with toilets and showers. They are really dirty and damp. Last time in the area I stayed at Cherokee Trails. I should have stayed there again. Smaller, cleaner and peaceful. This place seems to have a lot of long term/permanent residents. If you are looking for that maybe this is what you want. Lots of gravel, concrete and no trees.
