Has a lake for swimming with lifeguards, snack bar, restrooms. There was a large amount of big black ants everywhere. If you stopped walking on the trail, they would climb up your shoes. Cool to see the river from up on the cliffs. Lots of walking trails.

This park has quite a lot to offer. Camping grounds, programs for kids, a visitors center that also includes an interactive play area for children, fishing, etc. We specifically visited the park to hike the trails. We only did the upper half of the trails, but they were very well-marked and we never got lost. The scenery was stunning, and there's opportunities to get close to the Neuse river. The maps they provide are also pretty informative and tell you how long each trail is. The trails we hiked, for the most part, were easy to moderately challenging. We plan to come visit again to hike the rest of the trails when we can get back out there!

Very nice park! I go here every other month to just walk along their trails! It’s very well kept the only downside is when it rains the trails get flooded so I’m not able to walk anymore 😔 BUT other than that it’s very beautiful and I 100% recommend for a nice walk! 🤗 also there was a squirrel just eating his food so close to me and my bf I had to take a picture!

Very nice, peaceful walking trails. Some more difficult than others, but they are accurately labeled accordingly. Made for a very pleasant afternoon.
