One of the best state parks I’ve visited! Kings Mountain State Park is absolutely beautiful. The campground is clean, quiet, and surrounded by thick forest that makes every site feel private and peaceful. The trails are well-marked and offer everything from easy walks to more challenging hikes, and the views are incredible—especially from higher elevations where you can see the mountains roll on for miles. We brought a drone and captured some amazing overhead shots of the winding roads and the dense tree canopy—nature lovers and photographers will be in heaven here. The park is well-maintained, the staff is friendly, and it never felt overcrowded even on a weekend. Whether you're camping, hiking, taking photos, or just relaxing in the woods, this park has it all. We’ll definitely be coming back!

I've been here many times over the years. Always a great experience. Winter time is my new favorite time to come. Not a lot of campers in the winter. Squirrels are great listeners.

We went to Kings Mountain State Park for a picnic with the dogs on a Fall day. There is a campground there. I've stayed at the campground several times in the past. It's beautiful there. There is a playground for the kids. The restrooms are clean and stocked with toilet tissue. Lots of picnic tables in different settings.

Pretty decent campgrounds but I do wish that the sites were spaced out a bit more for those tent camping or RV camping. Sites were clean and good selection of goods at the camp store. Bathrooms were decent, but the shower curtains were pretty moldy. The campgrounds do allow for dogs so be aware.
