Weekend here with Girl Scouts. The girls had a great time. Wouldn't recommend the river hike (tore my meniscus going down a steep hill the day after a heavy rain) one and done for me. Which has nothing to do with the grounds itself. Just dont go off the trail. All the lodges in the main area were clean. Our lodge was kind of clean. We had mice, though, so the little mice pellets and urine were all... Weekend here with Girl Scouts. The girls had a great time. Mouse traps were placed here and there. Just make sure to wash anything you use before you use it. You're in the woods, so it happens. We were at Freedom Lodge. Overall, it was a good experience.

A beautiful Girl Scout camp. We stayed in Turtle Ridge. These are little camping shelters with bunks and there is a shelter with a refrigerator and picnic tables. A short walk away is a flush restroom. As my girls say: this is luxury camping! Nearby Loveland offers great biking trails and kayaking opportunities.

Great Girl Scout camp. Outdoor natural playground, restrooms and water fountains available at the program shelter, all lodges and tent areas have restrooms. Be sure to read your reservation info for what to bring and where to go. And don’t forget to back in when you park!

Groesbeck Cabin: Full day Saturday, overnight into Sunday Morning. Window AC unit & microwave have 3-prong plugs and the cabin only had 2-prong outlets. Outlets need to be updated or extension plugs need to be provided. Cabin is right to parking lot, that was nice for loading/unloading. Ranger informed. Rotor router had to come out. A bit disappointed in sling shot range. Could use updates. Would love to see funds go to updating sling shot & archery range, picnic tables & benches, and toilets/showers. Would love to see funds improve the dining hall and get this place back to the glory days of girl scout camp. Bring kids that really like nature and want to hike.

For nostalgia purposes I looked up camp Butterworth. I was a Girl Scout in late 1950's and our troop was there a couple of times. I was one of those happy memories of my childhood. The section we stayed in had canvas tents on wooden decks, and some kind of cots. It was very nice and clean. I remember the area was so beautiful! I still remember my Troup # 343, in the Mt. Healthy area. It's so nice... For nostalgia purposes I looked up camp Butterworth. I was a Girl Scout in late 1950's and our troop was there a couple of times.
