About Chippewa Valley Campground

Campground in Ohio.

Nestled in the heart of Ohio's scenic Chippewa Valley, this public campground offers travelers a genuine slice of Midwestern outdoor hospitality. The region is characterized by gently rolling terrain, tree-lined valleys, and the natural waterways that have shaped this landscape for generations. Whether you're seeking a peaceful retreat from busy highways or a base camp for exploring Ohio's diverse attractions, this location provides an authentic camping experience that connects you to both nature and local culture.

The Chippewa Valley area has long been a destination for those who appreciate natural beauty and outdoor recreation. The valley itself creates a picturesque setting where visitors can enjoy the changing seasons in full splendor. Spring brings wildflowers and fresh growth, summer offers lush greenery and comfortable camping weather, fall delivers spectacular foliage, and winter provides a quiet, contemplative landscape for those who enjoy off-season camping. The valley's elevation and natural features create microclimates that experienced RV travelers appreciate, often resulting in pleasant temperatures even when surrounding areas experience extremes.

This public campground serves as an excellent jumping-off point for exploring central Ohio. The region is rich in local history, small-town charm, and outdoor activities. Nearby communities offer genuine local dining experiences, antique shops, and craft breweries that showcase Ohio's growing food and beverage scene. For those interested in state parks and nature preserves, several excellent options lie within reasonable driving distance, offering hiking trails, fishing opportunities, and scenic overlooks.

The campground's public nature means it welcomes all RV travelers and camping enthusiasts. Families appreciate the accessible setting, while retirees often return year after year, drawn by the familiar beauty and peaceful atmosphere. Solo travelers and couples find the valley setting conducive to relaxation and personal reflection. The Chippewa Valley area is ideal for those who want to disconnect from highway monotony while remaining close enough to civilization for supplies, services, and occasional entertainment.

Camping here allows you to experience authentic Ohio—not the interstate corridors, but the quieter, more intentional landscape that many residents cherish. It's the kind of place where time seems to move differently, where sunsets paint the valley walls in dramatic colors, and where the simple pleasures of campfire conversations and stargazing feel like the whole purpose of travel.

The wildlife take stress out of your day. Sunsets/Sunrises over the small lake are a peaceful way way to start and end the day. Lots are very spacious and other campers willing to pitch in and help each other. Feels very homey. Keep your eye on this one. It's going to grow into something fantastic! Right off the interstate and close to many towns in every direction. Truckstop with several restaurants right up the road. If passing through or need a place to stay a bit (like we are) come by and see Dave or Ellen and we will welcome you right in.

My husband and I had our camper parked here for a month for work. We've camped in a lot of places but we have NEVER seen anyone who cares about their tennants as much as Dave and Ellen do. We loved seeing the deer, chickens, ducks, and geese every day as well.

Horrible experience with the new "manager" She was not pleasant, and aggressive. I simply told her, nevermind I seen enough. My husband and I were wanting info in seasonal camping...but not now. Your money is better off at another campground.

The owner is a mean little man who respects no one but demands that you give him respect and the park is always having some type of problem, like water or power shut offs all the time and it's not worth the 425 a month to stay year round. They need to update everything and won't hesitate to throw you out or try to scream in your face if your 2 days late on rent. It would be a great place to stay i... We’ve been here for a little over 2 months. NEW MANAGER Jay is awesome! Always working hard and willing to help in any way possible! They’ve also been working hard on repairing the road. Great stay. If we make it out here again, we will be staying here.
