Good place for family camping. We stayed in cabin first time, liked it so much we came back as permanent campers last two years. Even with all the covid restrictions, they have lots for the kids. Our new favorite place!

We were scheduled for a stay 6.6.25-6.8.25 but ran into issues with the campground. I knew we would be arriving early so I called to make sure there would be a place for us to sit while we waited for the 4pm check in. I was told it would be $10 to get to our site earlier but, if I could arrive after 2pm, we would be accommodated without the charge. We arrived close to 3pm. There was no one at the store/office and we couldn't read the "return at (time)" sign because of all the notes on the door. With no indication of where we were supposed to check-in/go and not knowing when anyone would be available, we used the time to find a site at a campground that was available. Afterwards we contacted Walnut Grove via email and we NEVER received a reply. I just received an email from "Christina & The Walnut Grove Team" inviting us to return. This request that we return is, in fact, the only follow up contact we have had with Walnut Grove. But they did charge us for the reserved site despite all of the above. I am posting this as a review to Google because neither the "contact us" on their website nor a reply to the aforementioned email currently works.

I just came to visit friends for the day but what a beautiful place! Everyone is so friendly and I'm in love with how much they do for the kids. I had a blast and can't wait to go back!

We would not recommend this campground to anyone for several reasons: 1. When making my reservation online their system said it did not American Express, so I paid with my Visa. Both cards were charged. I had to file a dispute with American Express. 2. When we get there we were assigned a spot. Drive to the spot to find they have already given this to someone else. When we get there we were assigned a spot. Drive to the spot to find they have already given this to someone else. We then have to wait while they made this person move. 3. The spot was so un-level. It was like a ski slope front to back and we had to use double ramps on one side just so ensure our wheels were not off the ground. 4. A majority of the campsites here are long term campers so they have some extremely interesting sewer hook ups. Especially the one across from us where they had such a long flat run of pipe it clogged up at least three times where we saw them out there ” jiggling” so the contents would go. Each time they would to this, we got lovely smells of what was sitting in the pipe. 5. All these long term campers spend their weekends making circles by racing around on their golf carts and on stone roads as you can imagine we were in a dust bowl the entire weekend. Even keeping our camper closed up, it was still a duty mess. Not to mention the noise of constant golf carts running by. Oh and did I mention we were on a corner to make matters worse. 6. I will finish with the one positive we saw- they had a pool that was good sized and appeared to be clean. We did not swim but the kids seemed to enjoy it.
