We stayed at the Hocking Hills Campground for a tent camping trip (no electric), and it was a wonderful experience. Our site was right on the edge of the woods, which gave us both privacy and easy access to nature. At night we enjoyed peaceful hikes under the trees and incredible star-filled skies—something you just don’t get in busier areas. The campground felt safe, and all the other campers we met were friendly and respectful, which added to the relaxed atmosphere. The campground also has some fun extras. There’s an outdoor movie theater for evening entertainment and a saltwater pool that’s perfect for cooling off during the day. Practical amenities were close by, including laundry facilities, showers, and restrooms. Everything was fairly clean for a campground, which made the stay much more comfortable. The park office staff were very friendly and helpful, making check-in and any questions smooth and easy. Overall, Hocking Hills Campground gave us the perfect mix of rustic tent camping and convenient amenities. Between the natural beauty, the quiet nights, and the thoughtful touches like the pool and movie theater, it was a great base for exploring the surrounding trails and caves.

The trails are great! Camping is not so great. Doesn’t seem to be a level spot in the campground. Bring your creative leveling ideas. We have dogs. So do others, please pick up after your dog it’s the right thing to do.

For my first time both solo car camping and at Hocking Hills, the campground was great!! I reserved a tent site and slept in my car, and was glad to see that I wasn’t the only one doing that. The bathroom alone was reason enough to stay: super clean, quite nice, very warm, and with the best campground/public shower I’ve ever been used. The campground is also quite close to the rest of the park’s main attractions. Would happily stay here again!

Sites are small.. for a tent , think about it . In summer. Bring the spray . It's quite & relaxing . Easy walk to most the campground extras . I saw 4-5 shooting stars every hour. & A satellite every 3 seconds. Pretty cool on a clear night .
