I went just this year and 2 years ago with my troop and I could say they all have enjoyed the camp. But as a scout who's first camp in boy scouts here, let me give you some tips before going to this great camp! 1. Keep a spoon on you at all times. That's because week 4 of the 2025 HSR camp, a SPL was crowned spoon king and every meal he would do "SPOON CHECK" and everyone would say, "SPOON!". 2.... They will go over most of the merit badge if not the entire thing in 3 days. Which is pretty awsome! I know I took E-prep this week and they made us complete it besides the 3 other requirements you have to do on your own. (Which are all first class requirements btw) Now let me get into the rest of the other reviews. So no, the food is not bad. It actually all using the MyPlate source and the head chef is a nice lady to talk to! Also yes there are daddy long legs everywhere on your tent but spraying bug spray in the morning in the inside of my tent really helps. And no there are no black widows anymore. (Unless you go week 1 or 2) Don't spend your money on the first day at the trading post! They have so many great deals later in the week but definitely spend money on the first day, because some items will not be there the next so if you want something, get it before it's too late!

Nice camp that is well run. The staff is wonderful and the facilities are well kept. We showed up the first week and had an issue with a few tents smelling like rat piss (from storage). The problem was resolved super quick. The staff also does a great job of creating a very fun and lively atmosphere. Thanks guys! Troop 223 of Norman Ok will be back.

I went to camp hale in 2022, and the camp was pretty fun, There is a nice pool, and a lake too. But, there are tons of boulders and rocks everywhere, and they are very easy to trip on if you're not careful. I tripped 4 times, and one of the trips made me get a scar on my arm which took 4 months to fade away. There are also tons of daddy long legs spiders. Alot of them were in my tent. Not to menti... Not to mention other creepy crawlers. There is also alot of hills that are a nightmare to walk up. The hardest one in my opinion is Cardiac Hill. I hated having to walk up it, and it was extremely tiring to do so. Other than all that, I had a fun time with my friends at camp.
