Shamrock is popular during peak season. Reserve 2-4 weeks in advance for weekends and holidays.
Most parks have check-in after 1:00 PM and check-out by 11:00 AM. Call ahead if you'll arrive late.
Oklahoma weather can change quickly. Pack layers and check the forecast for Shamrock.

Cool looking spot. Seems set up just right. Only problems we have with it is the outhouse style restrooms STINK. lol Seriously tho, the only thing wrong with this place is the wind and all the sand the gets into, literally, everything. Trust me, you can't stop it. Wind kept my tent flat most of the time. My sleeping bag and air mattress had sand in it, on it, and under it. I had sand in a dry bag... Cool looking spot. How can water not get in, but sand can? Bewildering. Not much to do in this campground other than fish.

Beautiful area, accessible campsites, nice tables & firepit. Trash receptacle nearby and potable water spout...some trails. Gorgeous view of the sunset! So happy to experience this place🥰

This is one of the nicest free campsites I've been to so far. There is a pair of geese with 7 goslings, and a skinny turkey that visits. I even find some wild spinach and lots of dandelion greens for lunch. My dogs have found a couple of stickers leftover from last year but this years crop are not mature yet. The grass was recently mowed and the privies are clean. There are several nicely shaded... This is one of the nicest free campsites I've been to so far. There are several nicely shaded areas after the noon sun. The locals come through during the week. Some for fishing, some for a swim. There have been a couple other long term campers, and a few come and go over the weekend. I've been here for a little over a week and plan on taking advantage of the full 14 days.

Really neat place to camp, fish, hike or even kayak. Definitely recommend for solo travelers or small families or groups. 2 restrooms and a water spigot for drinking but must bathe/wash off the platform so just hook a hose and make your own shower in the parking lot.

Great for fishing and relaxing, quiet atmosphere. Not good for swimming as there are large rocks around the grounds in the water. Overall one of my favorites for fishing.
