About Texoma State Park

This recreation area is part of Lake Texoma

Texoma State Park sits in the heart of southern Oklahoma, offering RV travelers a serene escape along the shores of Lake Texoma. This sprawling recreation area provides the perfect base for those seeking water activities, outdoor adventures, and peaceful moments surrounded by natural beauty. The park's location on one of the region's largest lakes makes it an ideal destination for boating, fishing, and water sports enthusiasts who want to combine camping with aquatic exploration.

The landscape around Texoma State Park showcases the rolling terrain and scenic vistas characteristic of the Red River region. Whether you're watching the sunset over the water, enjoying morning hikes through the park's natural areas, or simply relaxing at your RV site, the setting creates a rejuvenating atmosphere perfect for families, couples, and solo adventurers alike. The park's well-maintained grounds and thoughtful layout make it easy to settle in and feel right at home, even if you're traveling from far away.

Lake Texoma itself is the main draw for many visitors. Anglers come from across the country to fish for striped bass, catfish, and other species that thrive in these waters. If you prefer quieter pursuits, the lake offers beautiful views and peaceful spots for reflection. The surrounding area features native Oklahoma landscape with plenty of shade from mature trees, providing comfortable camping conditions even during warmer months.

Beyond the immediate park grounds, the region offers cultural attractions and small-town charm. The greater Texoma area includes various local shops, dining options, and historic sites that reflect Oklahoma's heritage. Whether you're interested in exploring Native American history, discovering local wildlife, or simply enjoying quality time with family and friends, the park's location puts you within reach of diverse experiences.

Texoma State Park appeals to a wide range of travelers. Water lovers appreciate the lake-based recreation, while those seeking quieter outdoor time enjoy the hiking and nature observation opportunities. The park's amenities and convenient location make it suitable for weekend getaways or extended stays, and the 4.5-star rating from hundreds of visitors speaks to the quality experience it consistently delivers.

Beautiful lake! I was impressed by just how nice the area was, but I didn't know much about it before heading there. I would consider returning here for some fishing as well!

The campsite was great, spacious with clean and well-maintained pavilions and restrooms. Each site came equipped with a grill and fireplace, which was a nice bonus and made our stay pleasant. The only downside was the lake, the water was quite muddy, so the kids weren’t too excited about swimming. However, it’s still a good spot for kayaking and boating.

Enjoying Christmas at this park is very special. We are traveling from Savannah GA and staying here three nights. The lake is beautiful and campground very quiet. I’m sure it’s much busier in summer.

The park was nice as was the marina. Our fire ring was missing and when I asked for one, I was told they were out. No worries. My boys and I made our own. The main issue I had was with how the campsites were laid out. They were too close and ours was very unevenly spaced. I would have booked the site next to ours had I known. Our tent was literally crammed into the corner of our site. The bathroom... The park was nice as was the marina. Our fire ring was missing and when I asked for one, I was told they were out. I would have booked the site next to ours had I known. Our tent was literally crammed into the corner of our site. The bathrooms could also do with a redo and more hiking trails would be nice. Also, the public access to the lake during the day meant the days were filled with lots of obnoxious and drunk folk driving in and out constantly. I was happy when the lake closed every evening! But overall, we had a pleasant stay and truly enjoyed the beauty of the area.
