Vernonia is popular during peak season. Reserve 2-4 weeks in advance for weekends and holidays.
Most parks have check-in after 1:00 PM and check-out by 11:00 AM. Call ahead if you'll arrive late.
Oregon weather can change quickly. Pack layers and check the forecast for Vernonia.
Don't miss local attractions near Vernonia. Ask the camp host for hidden gems and trails.

Serene location, open setting, distant and desolate and yet extremely calming. Loved it and will go back for a longer stay to find the quiet in my mind to match the quiet it offers.

Great little park. It’s quiet, reasonably priced and has very clean bathrooms with nice showers, laundry room. Not a lot of shade but the trees they planted are well on the way. The nearby county park on the little reservoir adjacent to the game refuge has swimming, picnic area, etc.

Nice little park and quiet. It is a bizarre and frustrating check-in system though if you don't know what site you've been given. Sites are close together, but Ana Reservoir is a beautiful little lake just around the corner so it is nice to kayak there for the day.

A very nice RV park in the middle of nowhere. But there is a surprising number of things to do. Jay and his wife live in the house next to the park and Jay is a wealth of knowledge. Go to the Cowboy dinner tree. Go to Christmas valley and see the Crack in the ground. Star gazing at night. Fishing in the reservoir. Lots of places to go and relax. Nice showers. Clean restrooms. Great little RV park, clean well kept, with full hooks, showers, and laundry. Afternoons can get windy, but mornings are great for kayaking and fishing.
