We got the last FCFS campsite Friday am, Labor Day weekend. Crazy busy, loud, and even rude neighbors- tried to bully us out of where we were swimming!?! Nuts. Crazy busy, loud, and even rude neighbors- tried to bully us out of where we were swimming!?! Nuts. I wouldn’t recommend coming on a weekend/holiday if you are used to dispersed camping or the like, or practice LNT. Had to put on blinders to walk past day use and see all the trash floating in the lake. No one enforced quiet hours or even the burn ban! People were having fires and partying at the campsites ‘till 3 AM Friday and Saturday night. 😑 BUT! the lake is gorgeous and we didn’t let the ‘bad news bears’ get us down! we walked a few of the trails: The Lost Lake Butte Trail I highly recommend for an awesome view! The old growth trail had some truly amazingly huge trees-cool to see in Oregon, it felt like California! The trail around the lake is great for a nice view of Mt Hood over the lake and just to get your bearings of the lake in general. :) F-loop lake front sites are clutch. 🏕️ over all, for beauty: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for camp experience:⭐️⭐️ i’d love to come again on a Tuesday ;) ✌️

My childhood favorite camping place & I still find it so beautiful years later. Portions of the area provide a great view of Mt. Hood too. I'll be back!!

It’s a fantastic location to camp. Just know that it’s first come first served and that checkout time is 10am, so most campers will be leaving by then, but check the dates on the LL reservation tag. You must setup a tent FIRST and then proceed to the General Store for a campsite pass ($34) and any extra vehicle is $9 for the day or $15 for the day AND overnight. Good luck!

This place is great! The first come first serve campsites are amazing and are very close to the lake most even have private paths and lake front lounge areas kids can play at . There’s a boardwalk style loop around the lake mostly some parts are natural path with rocks or dirt . We set out our hammock by the river down the small trail from our very private feeling campsite . Not like other campsit... This place is great! There’s a boardwalk style loop around the lake mostly some parts are natural path with rocks or dirt . We set out our hammock by the river down the small trail from our very private feeling campsite . Not like other campsites where you see your neighbors. They had hand sanitizer at the bathrooms which were pretty clean . The showers at the resort are nice and large like a bathroom suite . Renting boats and kayak could get busy and full fast especially on the weekend so you’ll want to do those rentals early. The store had basic camping supplies , treats , souvenirs and fire starters , wood . Our family loves to come here .
