Great place to zone out, decompress, watch the stars and watch the Milkyway rise in the late spring.....so quiet and must. It is not crowed like major areas close to larger towns etc. You can hear the wind, the sound of nature around you if people are cool......the latter is always questionable though.

Come here if you want to get away from people and enjoy some really primeval landscapes.

You kind of need a four wheel drive to get here. You'll drive on gravel then dirt roads for 15 miles off the highway - that means a good 30 minutes to get to a place that has 2 picnic tables. Looks like it's free. Port o potty. Literally out on the middle of absolutely nowhere. If you break down, oh well. There's no one to save you. This was a last minute very bad decision. I should have stayed on the highway and got to my destination at 10:30 ... but I am SOOOO TIRED! I hope a cougar or wolf doesn't eat me....or worse. Holy hell.

A remote, primitive campsite. This is about as far to the southeast in Oregon as you can get. Campsites and bathrooms are basic. The geology is absolutely fascinating. Be certain to learn more about it on the Internet before you go. There are many unique features.
