Located near the town of Medford in southern Oregon, this public campground serves as an ideal base for travelers seeking both relaxation and adventure in the heart of the Pacific Northwest.
The lake itself is the centerpiece of the experience, presenting a stunning backdrop for an unforgettable RV camping vacation. The pristine waters invite fishing enthusiasts to try their luck, while the surrounding landscape showcases the dramatic beauty that defines this corner of Oregon. The elevation and setting create a refreshing climate that appeals to visitors looking to escape summer heat, and the area's natural features make it perfect for nature photography, hiking, and wildlife observation.
For anglers, Fish Lake is particularly rewarding, with opportunities to catch various fish species throughout the season. The calm waters are also suitable for small boat recreation, adding another dimension to your camping experience. Beyond water activities, the surrounding national forest lands provide extensive hiking trail networks, ranging from leisurely walks to more challenging backcountry treks. These trails wind through old-growth forest, alpine meadows, and alongside mountain streams, offering plenty of opportunities to reconnect with nature.
The location makes it convenient for exploring broader regional attractions. The proximity to Medford means you're not far from dining, shopping, and cultural amenities when you want them, yet far enough away to feel genuinely removed from the hustle and bustle. This balance makes Fish Lake Resort appealing to both seasoned RVers and those newer to camping who want some nearby services without sacrificing the outdoor experience.
Wildlife watching is another draw, with opportunities to spot deer, birds, and other native species in their natural habitat. The changing seasons offer distinct experiences, from summer's warmth and longer daylight hours to the quiet beauty of spring and fall when crowds diminish.
