Has a nuisance bear problem. Black bears were coming and going all night long. They tore up some of our gear even though we had our food locked away. The bathroom was gross with a broken toilet lid, wet seat and floors and broken lock. We stayed in spt #2 so the bathroom wasnt far but had to walk through other camp spots to get there (not a big deal as the spots are pretty big). Biggest issue is the black bear problem. The bears are hardly afraid of people which tells me that this has been a problem for a long time and a dangerous one. The bears started raiding everyones spots as soon as people quieted down and started turning in (about 10pm). I grew up camping in Oregon and never seen anything like this as far as the bears being so brazen. Also, none of the spots are on the creek but you are able to walk to the creek. You cant swim in it because of how thick the foliage is and you cant see the water from the spot. There was bear scat on the walkway to the creek as well. Spots are not private at all. You can see right into your neighbors spots without much obstruction and can hear people talking even in a normal volume. Our camp trip was ruined because of the bears and ended early.

Loved It! Well maintained, clean vault toilets, roomy sites with plenty of shade. Jack Creek is beautiful, just right for wading in to cool off. Camp host made regular inspections. Easy access 😎👍🏕️

To Mrs. C, WOW! Cry me a river about the bears. How lucky can you be to get the opportunity to share such close proximity to that kind of mostly elusive wildlife. I grew up camping at Jack Creek and all over the camp Sherman area and I don't remember ever seeing any signs of bears much as I would have liked to. Plenty of deer but I never actually saw a bear in the wild until I was in my late 50s.... To Mrs. C, WOW! Cry me a river about the bears. I know I would have been willing to get radical for some pics in that situation.

Beautiful, we went to the trailhead which is down the same road as the campground. The trail is beautiful especially once you get near the creek and the trees and greenery is lush. It's only a 1/2 mile so 1 mile total trail but worth it
