About CULTUS CORRAL HORSE CAMP

Federal campground in Oregon.

Nestled in the heart of Oregon's natural landscape, Cultus Corral Horse Camp offers a unique camping experience for those seeking to combine their love of the outdoors with equestrian adventures. This national forest destination provides a welcoming retreat for horseback riders, families, and outdoor enthusiasts looking to escape into a more remote and peaceful setting.

The camp's primary appeal lies in its focus on horse-friendly facilities and accommodations, making it an ideal choice for travelers who want to bring their equine companions along on their camping journey. The setting allows visitors to explore miles of scenic trails that wind through the surrounding forest, offering opportunities for trail riding, hiking, and nature exploration. The forested environment provides natural shade and a cooler atmosphere, making it particularly appealing during warmer months when temperatures in lower elevations become uncomfortable.

Being situated within a national forest means you're surrounded by protected natural areas with minimal development and commercial intrusion. This creates an authentic camping experience where the focus remains on nature, wildlife, and outdoor recreation rather than amenities and attractions. The peaceful atmosphere makes it perfect for those seeking solitude, families wanting quality outdoor bonding time, or groups of friends looking for adventure on horseback.

The surrounding region offers excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing, with the possibility of encountering deer, elk, and various bird species throughout the year. Photographers will appreciate the natural beauty and changing seasons that paint the landscape in different colors and moods. Early morning and evening visits often reward visitors with the most active wildlife viewing opportunities.

This location appeals to a diverse range of travelers: experienced equestrians seeking backcountry trail riding, families introducing children to horseback camping, outdoor enthusiasts who value authentic forest experiences, and anyone looking for a quieter alternative to developed RV resorts. The national forest setting ensures that you'll experience camping the way many prefer it, with nature as the main attraction and your camping setup as your home base for exploration.

Equestrian only camp! Beautifully forested horse camp. Long parking pads for each site. Potable water from a hand pump. Bring a cart to haul water & manure. Easy horseback ride to Culrus Lake about 3 miles away. Quick and easy ride to river at end of dead end gravel road. Would like to see a few more trails.
