About Devil's Flat Campground

Federal campground in Oregon.

Devil's Flat Campground offers a genuine escape into Oregon's natural beauty, nestled within a national forest setting that appeals to RV travelers seeking authentic outdoor experiences away from commercial developments. The campground provides an excellent base for exploring the diverse landscapes and recreational opportunities that define this region of Oregon, where towering pines create natural shade and forest sounds provide a soothing soundtrack to your stay.

The surrounding national forest presents endless possibilities for outdoor enthusiasts. Hiking trails wind through varied terrain, offering adventures suitable for different skill levels and time commitments. Whether you're looking for a short nature walk to stretch your legs or a more ambitious full-day trek, the area delivers scenic vistas and the chance to connect with the Pacific Northwest's distinctive ecosystem. Wildlife viewing opportunities abound throughout the forest, with patient observers often spotting deer, elk, and numerous bird species. The forest setting also means remarkably clear starry nights, making Devil's Flat an ideal location for stargazing and photography.

Fishing is a major draw for many visitors to the area. Nearby streams and potentially larger water bodies provide excellent opportunities for both seasoned anglers and those just beginning to explore the sport. The cooler forest environment makes summer camping particularly comfortable compared to lower elevations, allowing you to enjoy outdoor activities well into the day without excessive heat.

The campground's location within a national forest means you're surrounded by protected lands with minimal development, preserving the natural character that makes the area special. This setting appeals to travelers who value solitude, natural beauty, and the opportunity to disconnect from busy life. Family groups, couples seeking romantic getaways, and solo adventurers all find appeal in this kind of forest camping experience. The quieter, more rustic nature of a national forest campground contrasts nicely with busier commercial parks, offering a different flavor of the RV camping experience that many travelers prefer.

Sure was plenty of firewood sitting around, road was quiet at night. Campsite had a couple benches, trash cans and a locker style bathroom. No water.
