This was a stellar hike. You need to walk about 1/3 of a mile from the gate to the tower (which you probably cannot enter) look at satellite view on you map app and you will see that southeast of the tower there are some cliffs breathtaking views. I recommend going further to the other rock formations on the peninsula. I drew a green line on the photo around where the trail is and how to get to... This was a stellar hike. It’s stylized and not accurate presentation of the path. You will go off trail but it is an easy hike. Look at the map and see for yourself. Highly recommend checking this place out.

So freaking pretty! 360 views! The stairs are super steep and it's very windy. So if you aren't good with heights, it will be a tough one. But so worth it and a good little stay up there! So pretty! You can see the sunset and the sunrise and stay cozy with the old wood burning stove!

Beautiful! As of 5/20/2024 the road was snowed in and impassable for the last 1.7 miles so we hiked that stretch. Plenty of dishes, firewood, and even some water were there when we arrived. It got very cold at night, even with the wood stove running, so pack warm!

Best 360 degree views. I hiked 7.5 miles from Dufur, but you can drive pretty close as well. Either way, it is worth your time.
