About Whispering Falls Campground

Campground in Oregon.

Nestled in the heart of Oregon's stunning landscape, Whispering Falls Campground offers a genuine escape into nature for RV travelers seeking authentic forest camping. This intimate national forest campground features just 16 sites, ensuring a peaceful and uncrowded experience that larger facilities simply cannot match. The smaller scale means you'll enjoy genuine solitude while still having access to essential amenities that make extended stays comfortable.

The campground's location within the national forest provides immediate access to some of Oregon's most beautiful natural scenery. Towering evergreens surround the sites, creating a canopy that offers shade during warm days and a sense of sheltered tranquility throughout your stay. The forest setting means you'll wake to the sounds of nature rather than neighboring RVs, and evening hours bring the kind of darkness and star visibility that's increasingly rare in our modern world.

Whispering Falls serves as an excellent base for exploring the broader region. The national forest surrounding the campground contains numerous hiking trails ranging from easy nature walks to more challenging backcountry adventures. Whether you're interested in short morning strolls or full-day expeditions, the trail system provides options for all fitness levels. The forest itself is home to diverse wildlife and plant life that changes with the seasons, offering something new to discover throughout the year.

This campground particularly appeals to RV travelers who value a back-to-basics approach to camping without sacrificing comfort. Families with children enjoy the safe environment and natural playground that the forest provides. Retirees appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and opportunity for leisurely exploration at their own pace. Outdoor enthusiasts find it an ideal jumping-off point for hiking, wildlife viewing, and photography. Couples seeking a romantic woodland retreat discover the quiet intimacy that smaller, well-maintained national forest campgrounds offer.

The remote location means you'll want to arrive with supplies, as nearby commercial services require travel beyond the immediate area. However, this trade-off is precisely what makes Whispering Falls special for those seeking genuine forest immersion rather than RV park amenities. The rating of 4.6 out of 5 stars from 62 reviews speaks to the consistently positive experiences visitors have enjoyed here.

It was really not bad at all, I took campsite 10 it was huge definitely great for bigger groups, spaced out nicely. Has amazing clean bathrooms, water, huge trash cans, a place where you can dump dirty waters, fire pit and a table at each site. There was a small hike but we just needed a smaller area anyways we were on our trip back home and needed a place to sleep.

Beautiful place. The sites are big with plenty of space between the other sites, and the river running along the backside is amazing. The camp hosts are awesome, very friendly and the camp was immaculate. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it's close to the highway, so a lot of highway noise.

This campground is small, some spots are reserve only but there are first come/first serve spaces as well. We stayed in space 7 and it was perfect for one large tent and two medium tents. It has an easy path that leads directly down to the river. At the rivers edge we discovered 1 spot that was a combination of sand and rocks and 2 sandy beaches to place our towels on. We LOVED it here!! Great cam... This campground is small, some spots are reserve only but there are first come/first serve spaces as well. Great camp host, Sergio, that took awesome care of the bathrooms everyday!

My husband and I love this campground. We have been going here for about 15 years. It is beautiful. It is a great area for tents. Not the greatest area for kids who are younger as there isn't much to do, but very relaxing. A great place to unplug.

After being disappointed by not getting to Horseshoe Lake to camp, and a very rude, unhelpful camp host at the next campground (Cove Creek), we wound up here. Ray and (I think) Barbara, the camp hosts were very helpful and friendly. We stayed at spot # 4, which was an amazing area. This will definitely be a goto place for us in the future! Always nice when the unexpected turns out to be a great ad...
