About Highlander RV Park

Campground in Oregon.

Nestled in the scenic high desert landscape of central Oregon, Highlander RV Park offers a peaceful retreat for travelers seeking to experience one of the Pacific Northwest's most beautiful regions. La Pine serves as an ideal home base for exploring the natural wonders that surround this charming community, from pristine lakes to volcanic landscapes and towering ponderosa pine forests.

The area around La Pine is characterized by its elevation and crystal-clear air, making it a refreshing destination during the warmer months when many travelers are exploring the West. The region sits at approximately 4,300 feet, providing cooler temperatures compared to lower elevations and a welcome escape from summer heat. This climate makes it particularly appealing for those who want to enjoy outdoor activities without the intensity of desert heat or the potential for extreme conditions in other locations.

Outdoor enthusiasts will find no shortage of activities in the surrounding area. The nearby Newberry National Volcanic Monument offers fascinating geological formations and hiking opportunities for all skill levels. La Pine State Park provides access to beautiful waterways including the Deschutes River, perfect for fishing, boating, and riverside relaxation. The area's numerous lakes are popular destinations for water recreation, and the extensive network of trails caters to hikers, mountain bikers, and nature lovers throughout the seasons.

The community of La Pine itself maintains a quiet, small-town character that appeals to travelers seeking a slower pace. Local shops and dining options provide convenient access to supplies and meals without the overwhelming bustle of larger towns. The friendly nature of the area makes it welcoming for families, retirees, and adventure seekers alike.

Whether you're planning an extended stay to explore volcanic landscapes, use the park as a base for outdoor adventures, or simply want to unwind in a peaceful setting surrounded by natural beauty, Highlander RV Park provides a comfortable launching point. The combination of excellent ratings from previous guests and the park's location in this remarkable corner of Oregon makes it a worthy consideration for your next RV travel plans.

The bed was one of the most comfortable. A bit high on the room Rate and no breakfast. An older mom and pop hotel. But we felt safe there.

An absolute gem of a motel, I'm glad I found it! I pulled off the road early because of the weather and based on the good reviews and the fact that they took pets I decided to stay here. Local family business that truly cares about their customers. You won’t find owners that are more personable and willing to assist you. Close to all downtown business as food and grocery stores are literally a small walk away.

We are a family with young kids. We stayed here and we're impressed. For $140 we got a king and pull out queen. The room was clean and looked pretty recently updated. It was surprisingly sound resistant, I could hardly hear the highway noise at all. Sadly, there was a fire outside of town the second night we were going to stay and we chose to leave, for peace of mind. The kind young guy offered to try to find a way to compensate for that but we told them we knew it was our choice to go and no fault of the small business! We will likely stay here again, as our kiddos LOVED the area. We spent time at the High Desert Museum, Lava Butte and Lava River Cave.
