Food is much better than most camps. Starting on time / being ontime is not stressed much. The camp is mostly clean although latrines are only encouraged to be sprayed clean with water. Not cleaning agents. There is a nice, new upper bathroom with showers. The staff is young and very nice. There is a beautiful stream that runs through the camp into the camp lake where sailing and canoeing and swimming is taught. The week we were camping, there was never any wind to actually sail, so maybe pass on the sailing as the lake is mostly surrounded by high land so it blocks the wind. There is a large swimming pool with separated beginner and experienced areas and a diving board. There is a blue mountain program for first time camp scouts that is good for most beginners, although it may be a little slow for self motivated high achievers. Over I give the camp very high rating and recommend the camp to scouting units.

Summer camp staff were awesome and did a great job with their assignments. Program and facilities leave much to be desired. Pull house youth areas were horrific: clogged toilets, feces on walls, black bio growth, transparent shower curtains, and slow to little respond to correct. Pull house youth areas were horrific: clogged toilets, feces on walls, black bio growth, transparent shower curtains, and slow to little respond to correct. Camp Site latrines in desperate need of cleaning or supplies to clean. Programming and policy rules are not very supportive of Scouts, are inane, are arcane... Such as requiring all Troop members to audition for skits during program time (meaning they miss important requirements or skip). Staff literally don't trust leaders AND truly think the poorly managed auditions will stop mischievous Scouts from performing an unacceptable/unapproved line or skit at closing. First time I ever saw such an exhaustive list of mandatory requirements for Honor Troop... Was very burdensome. Western theme for camp but virtually NO Western motif or programs or anything. No transparency in any of the program management and it seems that there were questionable results or outcomes (our boys had fun and loved the youth running programs, just felt left out of or intentionally overlooked in camp wide contests). And the week wrapped up with a weird inclusion of an entirely too long OA call-out that had no setup or introduction (heard an attend say "Well, that wasn't too cultish!" I am an OA member and feel this has no place at a summer camp closing.

Beautiful area and well maintained. Was here for an outdoor wedding - the outdoor chapel was a great back drop for a beatiful ceremony. The seating (benches) were comfortable and well spaced. There was adequare parking and a handy restroom. There was also a room for the bridal party to get ready and stay seperate from the guests until the great reveal. My favorite summer camp. Lake and pool, shotgun and rifle, and the best menu and food I've experienced. Loved the staff and everything about Bashore.

Our troop enjoyed the activities and merit badge class variety and how friendly and knowledgeable the camp counselors are. The landscape is beautiful. The size isn’t too overwhelming. It’s our second year.
