There are still issues with creating a good environment for minorities in scouting that come from the national and council levels that trickle down into the camping experience. There is no way to deny that. At the same time, I commend the staff for the lengths they'll go to to protect the scouts under their care. During the off season, they hold other fun events, or you can visit for a nice hike around the lake. Definitely check it out!!

This place is amazing. We came here for a week for Boy Scouts, and I got to drive a small boat, learn about environmental science, and also take a painting class. I enjoyed this a lot, and would definitely come again (hopefully next year)!

This camp is a great place for the Scouts. There is a large dining area with a fireplace, a big lake for all the swimming and boating merit badges, many houses to stay in, and all in a very relaxed rural atmosphere.

A great scouting reservation featuring 4 total camps, one for younger cub scouts, 2 for Boy Scouts (one with a dining hall and the other with cookouts at your own site), and the final being Eagle Base. I’ve camped here for many years enjoying the merit badges offered, as well as the staff. This is a great option for your troop if you are able to fund raise a bit.

Very fun camping experience with our Cub Scout Pack. I was disappointed that the trails were not well maintained. The red trail has a section that was very difficult to get through: lots of down trees, overgrown vegetation including thorns. And missing trail markers were a problem throughout. We had a great experience. The scouts enjoyed the Fort, a hike, and seeing the camp I enjoyed as a camper and Staff member many years ago. The Ranger took the time to check in with us a few times. This was a new and welcoming experience compared to other camps.

For the needs of our group, Camp Garrison is perfect. The property is easily sectioned off into zones and each has distinct features. The camp was clean and ready for a host of guests.

Same for the laundry facilities. Musty smelling and old machines. They have golf carts to rent, there is a game room, and also a small mini golf course. Office staff was friendly. It was quiet when we went, but most of the seasonals were gone since it was late September. I could see how it could potentially be loud during the summer because of the multitudes of RVs that are packed in close together. Site itself was pretty small. We had no room to put up our hammocks.

Can’t move unless we want to move again through the week. Would love to cancel but cant get in anywhere else without moving multiple times. I actually liked how big it was, since there was always something to see and do. Everyone there was very friendly, and it felt super safe the whole time. That made it even more enjoyable. There are also tons of activities for families, so kids and adults can all have fun. Whether you’re hanging out at the campground or heading out to explore, there’s always something going on. One of the best parts is that Drummer Boy is really close to Gettysburg. If you’re interested in history, this campground is perfect because you can easily visit all the battlefields, museums, and other historic sites nearby. It’s awesome for families who like to learn about the past while also enjoying the outdoors. We stayed in one of the cabins, and it was very comfortable. The cabins have most of what you need for a couple nights, but if you plan to cook, you should bring your own pots, pans, or cooking tools. The cabins are cozy and clean, and they make a great choice if you don’t have an RV. Overall, I highly recommend Drummer Boy Campground and RV. It’s fun, safe, close to amazing history, and a perfect spot for families.
