We loved or spot for camping. Quiet campground. The park offers a lot of activities, including hiking trails, and boating, plus a beach on a big lake. There are many campgrounds within Promised Land. The park Rangers were friendly and came around to caution all on the bear situation. It was Springtime so they were on the move. We saw deer while we're camping, no bears to speak of. Rented a cottage for a few nights which was exactly as described. No frills, electric, bunk beds, picnic table inside and out, a heater and ceiling fan. The bathhouse was about 200 feet from our cottage which was convenient. The bathhouse was well maintained and the shower water was HOT! spring is still coming to life and the trees are not in full bloom but beautiful nonetheless. Spent one morning... Spent one morning kayaking the lake, seems to be fairly shallow and a lot of growth, fishing wasn’t successful. Walked conservation island which is a nice mile loop. Checked out the eagle conservation area but unfortunately didn’t see any eagles. I know the cabins have basic appliances, these do not and it would be a bonus if there was at least a microwave.

Lovely place for paddling, swimming, and hiking. The main lake is just about ideal for kayaking or canoeing. I recommend checking out the Little Falls Trail, as well. Lots of nice views for a relatively short hike.
