The campground was very clean and had plenty of toilets and spickets for clean water. Showers were warm. The lake had so many dead fish though. We walked around the entire lake and counted at least 40 dead fish floating along the shore. It also smelled pretty bad.

Very quiet camp ground, the park rangers were kind of rude over little things, such as parking slightly on the grass, dog on leash but it wasn't held on to, while a little girl was playing ball with it. But otherwise great, will probably go back

Center Lake was very conveniently located and I had a good three nights there. I was fortunate enough to get a "day of" site. I hadn't made a reservation ahead of time. You need to be sure to park on the pavement and not up in the dirt. (It wasn't obvious to me because pine needles and cones made it hard to distinguish.) It was quiet enough, and quite shady. I took my paddle board out on the lake.

Best campground at Custer State Park. Get up at 550 am to make your reservation online. Loved the lake - so peaceful and beautiful with no motorboats. Lovely walk around the lake. Kids loved playing in the sand and I loved floating on my paddleboard in the lake without having to worry about any boats hitting me - I actually napped!

What an absolute gem of a camp site. I took my 3 year son on his first overnight tent camping trip here and it was just perfect. No cell service so there were zero distractions. The water was perfect, the weather was amazing, and the memories will last us a life time. If you can get site 45, it is the picture perfect camp site.
