A neighbor stopped by to inform us that the owners were out of town and their horses had just been seized for neglect two days before. We had already paid for our stay and had our site, so we stayed. Never did see the owners. Location is okay, you have to ride through the Spruce Creek area to get to other trails and there are signs up saying it's private. The campground looks neglected. Not mowed, manure bin overflowing. The actual layout and barns are nice, they just need to be maintained. Some of the sites are taken up by old trailers or farm equipment. The front barn has mats in the stalls, the back barn does not. Restrooms are in nice shape, clean with decent showers.

I would venture to say that this campground is a “full service” campground. The bathhouses were extremely clean also. Tim and Heather are amazing hosts and we will definitely be staying here again in the future.

The property was very well-kept. The concierge service was great. Harold and Ron were so polite and helpful. The lodging was in great condition, clean and comfortable! I think the property is under new management after reading recent reviews which I think attributed to the great experience. Can’t wait to visit this location again.

Extremely thrilled with our entire experience here. This campground offers extras you do not get anywhere else. Not only did they clean out the back of our horse trailer but also unloaded tack and hay. The campground was immaculate. If you leave anything behind, they have it including propane and soft serve ice cream! You couldn't meet better folks than the owners! We will definitely be back with... The owners are very friendly and very willing to help navigate the trails. The location of the campground provides great trail access. The restrooms were very clean. We stayed in site 9 and loved it. The sites were a little close in comparison to other campgrounds we have traveled to, but it didn't bother us in the slightest - we came to ride horses! We really enjoyed the "strict" dog policy (mostly just common courtesy and sense in my opinion). Was a little disappointed to see the owners not abide by their own policy by their dog roaming off leash when let out, but they were very well behaved dogs and didn't bother anything. All in all, I highly recommend this campground, and would encourage anyone to stay here if you're wanting to explore Big South Fork!
