About Crossville Koa

Campground in Tennessee.

Nestled along US-70 in Crossville, Tennessee, this KOA campground offers the perfect basecamp for exploring the natural beauty and charm of the Cumberland Plateau region. Crossville sits at an elevation of over 1,900 feet, making it one of the highest towns east of the Mississippi River, which means you'll enjoy cooler temperatures and crisp mountain air during much of the year—a welcome relief during hot summer months when lower elevations swelter.

The area surrounding Crossville is a gateway to incredible outdoor recreation. The Cumberland Trail State Park winds through dramatic ridgelines and valleys, offering hiking opportunities that range from easy strolls to challenging backcountry adventures. Nearby, you'll find the beautiful Obed Wild and Scenic River, perfect for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. The Crab Orchard area provides additional water activities and scenic drives through rolling hills and forests that showcase Tennessee's natural character at its finest.

For those interested in history and culture, Crossville has genuine character. The town's downtown area features local shops, antique stores, and restaurants where you can experience authentic Tennessee hospitality. The Crossville Fine Arts League and various local galleries showcase regional artists. If you're traveling with history buffs, the nearby areas tell stories of pioneer settlement, coal mining heritage, and Appalachian culture that shaped this region.

The location is exceptionally convenient for travelers. Being positioned on US-70 means you're well-connected to broader Tennessee destinations. You're within reasonable driving distance of Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains to the east, while also being accessible to attractions in the Cumberland region. The town itself provides all the services and supplies you'd need for an extended stay, from grocery stores to fuel stations to restaurants.

This campground appeals to a wide range of travelers. Families appreciate the safe, well-maintained environment and proximity to outdoor activities suitable for all ages. Adventure seekers find excellent hiking, paddling, and exploring opportunities. Those seeking relaxation enjoy the cooler mountain setting and slower pace of life. Retirees in RVs love the central Tennessee location as a home base for extended visits or as a comfortable stop on longer journeys. Couples looking for a romantic getaway find the natural scenery and peaceful atmosphere ideal for reconnecting and enjoying quality time together.

Whether you're planning a weekend escape, a week-long adventure, or using it as a stopping point on a longer cross-country journey, this location provides the combination of natural beauty, convenient location, and outdoor recreation that makes RV camping memorable.

We only stayed one day but from the campground we stayed at the night before in SC they were a welcoming Oasis. I love that they are family owned. Campground and all facilities were spotless, (that includes bathrooms and showers) grounds were well taken care of and everyone we encountered were so nice and helpful. I wish we could have stayed a little longer. If your ever in this neck of the woods... We only stayed one day but from the campground we stayed at the night before in SC they were a welcoming Oasis. Right now their Christmas directions are beautiful after dark. 2 great dog areas too!

Wonderful stay at a family friendly campground. Bath house and common areas are always clean. 3 dog parks for your furry companions to choose from. Staff is always eager to help in any way that they can. Very well run and organized campground. Can’t wait to stay again!

Crossville KOA is an excellent and friendly place to stay. Their cabins are professionally maintained, clean, and very welcoming. They have all the amenities you would need unlike a hotel. They are family owned and treat you like family. I highly recommend them. I stay there three or more times per year and highly recommend them.

I've stayed at a great many KOAs. This one is by far the best one I've ever stayed at. The staff were amazing, the bathrooms were spotless, and the grounds were kept perfect. It was very quiet, a lot of KOAs, are right off the roadside and you can hear cars all night, this one isn't, it was dead quiet. The next time I pass through crossville I'll definitely be staying there again.

Beautiful setting. Friendly people at office and very helpful. The bathrooms and showers were very clean. We came through in late November and park was decorated for Christmas. My wife and I were able to sit by the fire pit and enjoy the huge Christmas tree at the same time. I am glad we chose this place.
