This is our third year out here for spring break. It's cold. Very cold. ❄️❄️❄️ We bring our LLB sleeping bags rated for 40°, and we still sleep in our clothes, and are still freezing. I will never go to the beach for spring break again. It is incredibly beautiful out here. After a cold night, temperatures can climb into short and t-shirt weather. The camp spots are perfect. The tent plots are perfect. The sand is flat or mostly flat, and the sand is great for tent stakes; it is fairly easy to hammer into and holds stakes well. Bring hand soap. The bathrooms/showers are always stocked with toilet paper, but they do not put soap and will remove it if you leave it in there. Boat noise can be distracting if you are looking for total peace, but the farther away you are from the boat ramp, the less noise you'll get. Cell phone service is fairly decent but don't expect to stream videos and music. Bring firewood and fire starters if you plan on making a fire. Wind can be a problem for starting a fire and using a camp stove is next to impossible.

Great park to camp in. Reservations are easy to make online and the camp is clean and well maintained. The lots are great if a little too close together. That said, everyone was polite and quiet so it worked out fine. I would stay here again.

It is a beautiful park, but two drawbacks. #1, the ants were horrible! Never had a problem with ants anywhere else we have camped, but we got invaded by the little monsters and had to go buy a $15 jug of Sevin bug spray. Noticed those around us were fighting them, too. #2, very tight park to try and navigate around. Have to be a very good operator to be able to get in there with a decent-sized cam...
